The police said that Ra’Miyah baby was rushed to Nebraska Medicine but the doctors failed to save her.&nbsp;

The parents of the girl informed the police station that the body temperature of Ra’Miyah was 109 degrees Fahrenheit at the hospital, and the doctors could not do anything to revive her.&nbsp;

Ryan Williams, 62-year-old driver of the van, was arrested by the police on Tuesday and charged with child negligence resulting in death.

Reeyon Worthington and his wife Sina Johnson Worthington stated that for five years they have been taking their children to the Kidz of the Future Childcare Centre. Williams early Monday morning picked Ra’Miyah and two of her siblings in the van and took them to the daycare.

The other two children were taken out from the van, however, the 1-year-old was left behind.

Giacomo Chiapparini, 77, was buried under the giant cheese wheels after a shelf broke in his warehouse. The warehouse was in the northern Lombardy region. The unfortunate incident took place on Sunday (August 8). When the warehouse shelf broke, it created the a domino effect. As a result, thousands of wheels came down on Chiapparini, according to firefighter Antonio Dusi who was speaking with AFP. &nbsp;

It has been reported that rescuers "had to move the cheeses and the shelves by hand"

It took "12 hours" to find Chiapparini who was buried under all that cheese.

The warehouse is located in a small town of Romano di Lombardia near Bergamo. The warehouse contained 25,000 wheels of grana padano. It a type of hard cheese that resembles parmesan and is very popular in Italy.

When the tragedy struck, Chiapparini was checking the ripening wheels. These cheese wheels were stored on metal shelves. The highest of these shelves stood at 10 metres (33 feet).

Bortolo Ghislotti, a friend and neighbour of Chiapparini, told NBC that Chiapparini and his son Tiziano (50) went to the cheese warehouse after getting alarm signal from a machine that &nbsp;that cleans the cheese wheels from the mold.

“These machines clean and rotate the wheels, so when they find them even slightly out of place, they send a warning,” Ghislotti said. “It’s a common problem. So Giacomo and his son went there to adjust the wheels.”

Ghislotti said after the father-son duo fixed the problem, the son left the warehouse. After that, Chiapparini re-started the machine. It has been reported that everything fell on him just seconds later.

She stated that the charges stemmed in part from multiple screenshots of the bag&nbsp;she shared on her personal Instagram. In the photo, a cotton bag is seen emblazoned with blue text which read, “Sex is cool, but Putin’s death better”, reported The New York Post.

The woman was stopped by the officers from contacting a lawyer and was asked by them how her mother, a teacher, “had such an ill-mannered daughter,” as per the human rights group Sphere. 
 
In late July, she was slapped with a fine of over $2,000 by the Magistrate’s Court for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations” in addition to the charge for “discrediting,” said Mediazone.

Some 2,700 soldiers on Tuesday stormed a prison in Ecuador, retaking control of the facility as the death toll from a riot that started over the weekend rose to 31 inmates, authorities said.

The latest battle between rival gangs at the overcrowded, violence-hobbled Guayas 1 prison in the port city of Guayaquil has left 31 people dead and 14 wounded, the public prosecutor's office said, updating an earlier death toll from 18.

Riots regularly pit prison gangs with links to drug traffickers against one another in Ecuador, a country that has recently emerged as a key player in the South American cocaine trade.

A string of bloody clashes has claimed at least 420 lives in Ecuadoran prisons since 2021 -- many of the victims beheaded or burnt alive, others shot as widespread corruption among guards allows inmates to obtain guns and explosives.

Among those wounded in the latest round of violence was a police officer, said the prosecutor's office.

The armed forces, for its part, said soldiers and police entered Guayas 1 on Tuesday to put down the riot that started Saturday and had left an initial toll of six dead inmates.

At least one of the dead had been beheaded, according to a government decree issued Tuesday announcing a 60-day state of emergency in all Ecuador's prisons.

The government, via its communications secretariat Segcom, said "total control" had been regained at Guayas 1, which houses over 5,600 inmates.

Officers seized nine rifles, a grenade launcher, four pistols, two revolvers and 1,000 rounds of ammunition, according to officials.

The public prosecutor's office on Tuesday announced the opening of a murder investigation over the deaths as well as a terrorism probe, due to the "explosions and the quantity of weapons and ammunition found inside the prison."

<h2>'We want peace'&nbsp;</h2>

Dozens of people gathered outside Guayas 1 on Tuesday, frantic for news about their loved ones inside.

Some carried white balloons and placards proclaiming: "We want peace."

"The prisoners don't interest them (the authorities)," said a woman desperate for news on her husband, and who did not want to be named as she feared for her safety.

"It's as if they (the inmates) were rats. They are human beings!" she told AFP.

Family members said they feared the prisoners would be moved to other facilities -- something which in the past has resulted in deadly clashes between newcomers and the old guard, who are often aligned with rival groups.

President Guillermo Lasso in a message on social media insisted the government "will never yield" to criminal violence.

He posted photos of heavily-armed security forces standing guard over dozens of prisoners with naked torsos and hands tied.

The Prison Observatory, a rights group, claimed on social media that inmates at Guayas 1 have been "without food and water for more than three days."

<h2>'Torture centres'&nbsp;</h2>

The SNAI prison authority, meanwhile, announced that 106 prison guards -- among the dozens taken hostage Monday at prisons in five provinces -- had since been released. It did not say how many still had to be freed.

Fewer than 3,000 guards are in charge of more than 31,000 inmates in 36 prisons around Ecuador, many of them overpopulated.&nbsp;

Ecuador forces wrest back control of prison as riot death toll climbs to 31

Tragedy struck as Tafari Campbell, who was the personal chef of former US president Barack Obama, drowned near the family's residence on Martha's Vineyard.

The Massachusetts State Police confirmed the identity of the paddleboarder whose body was recovered from Edgartown Great Pond on Monday (July 24).

The search for the missing paddleboarder began on Sunday after a fellow paddleboarder reported that Campbell had encountered difficulties on the surface, ultimately submerging and failing to resurface.

The search was temporarily suspended on Sunday (July 23)&nbsp;but resumed the next day. State police, employing sonar technology from a boat, located his body approximately 100 feet from shore, at a depth of about 8 feet. Tragically, Campbell was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

The Obamas extended their sympathies to Campbell's wife and twin boys. They further recounted how they had invited him to continue being a part of their lives after leaving the White House, and he had graciously accepted their offer.
