Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar hailed Hardik Pandya &amp; Co. and said they proved the trophy can't be won at the auction table. Manjrekar pointed out how GT had taken a gamble with players like Miller and Pandya himself but it all paid off for them.

Pandya, who was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the mega auction, was roped in as captain by the Titans and went on to lead the side tremendously well. Gujarat Titans defeated CSK by 3 wickets after successfully&nbsp;chasing down the target of 170 runs in a last-over thriller.

Batting first at the MCA Stadium in Pune, CSK rode on opener Ruturaj Gaikwad's 73 off 48 balls and Ambati Rayudu's 31-ball 46 to post a challenging total of 169 runs on the board in 20 overs. Despite getting off to a great start with the ball, CSK pacers faltered towards the end as a sensational cameo from Rashid Khan and David Miller's stunning knock took GT over the line in their run chase.

During Gujarat Titans' run-chase, CSK skipper Jadeja and Bravo were left furious after Dube's poor effort on the field. The incident happened in the 17th over of Gujarat Titans' innings when Miller mistimed a pull shot off the bowling of Bravo. The ball flew towards Dube at the midwicket region, who failed to judge the flight of the ball and didn't go for the catch.

Instead of attempting a dive and going all out for the catch, Dube wasted the half-chance as he stopped midway through run up and stopped the ball from going for a boundary after it had bounced off the ground. His poor effort left CSK skipper Jadeja fuming as he was spotted throwing his cap away in frustration.

Bravo was also left unhappy after the effort and was seen signalling another fielder to move to Dube's spot. Police were accused of buckling to pressure to solve a crime that made global headlines and threatened to damage a tourism sector that accounts for a fifth of Thailand's economy.

Andy Hall, an international adviser to the defence, said the evidence was "unreliable".

"The death penalty sentence against the two accused and their conviction should be reversed and quashed."

Thailand's legal system is notoriously opaque, with some cases flying through the courts while others take years.

The 2017 appeal decision was presented to the two men with no translator and without lawyers present, according to the defence.

If the Supreme Court's verdict on Thursday upholds the ruling their last hope is the possibility of a royal pardon.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and posted 371 for six on the back of centuries from David Warner (117) and Steve Smith (108).

Quinton de Kock made 70 as South Africa reached 217 for five in the 32nd over of their reply but an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 107 between Miller and all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo (42 not out) saw them home against Australia`s inexperienced attack.

The hard-hitting Miller blasted 10 fours and a six after going into the game with a question mark hanging over his place, having not passed 50 in 19 previous innings.

Australian openers Warner and Aaron Finch (53) bludgeoned their way to 110 for nought in 13 overs while captain Smith was more measured as he struck his sixth one-day ton.
