At the 2023 CMT Music Awards on Sunday, rapper-turned-country singer Jelly Roll emerged as the big winner, taking home three awards for his much-loved confessional songs. The "Son of a Sinner" singer got emotional during the show in Austin, Texas, which aired on CBS, as he thanked the country radio industry for its acceptance and gave a shout-out to those who felt like him.

"You can be whatever you want to be. I promise you that. I told them that I wanted to be a country singer and I am standing here at the CMT Awards with the male video of the year, baby," Roll shouted.

Before receiving the honours, he brought a choir out on the stage and performed his prayer-themed song "Need a Favor". The show, however, started off with a sombre tone as co-host Kelsea Ballerini read off the names of six victims of a school shooting killed Monday in Nashville, Tennessee. She shared her own experience with the audience and revealed that in 2008 she witnessed something similar at her hometown high school cafeteria in Knoxville.

Meanwhile, country superstar and five-time Grammy winner Shania Twain received the Equal Play Award for being a "visible and vocal advocate" for diverse voices in country music.

Lainey Wilson, on the other hand, won twice with female video of the year for "Heart Like a Truck" and collaborative video of the year for "Wait in the Truck". Check out the full list of winners below!

Founder, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of The Beatles, John Lennon, was murdered on December 8, 1980, outside his New York City home, which he shared with his wife Yoko Ono. His assassination sent shockwaves across the music industry and his fans mourned his death for months. Nearly 42 years after the music legend's demise, his former personal assistant has blamed the "lack of security" for his death.

Dan Richter, who worked as Lennon's PA from 1969 to 1973, recently spoke to the Daily Telegraph and stated that the music legend should never have been allowed to use the front door of his New York City apartment. The 83-year-old actor and mime artist said, on Wednesday, that "the door was a danger point".

"You can identify and avoid that. And there was a side door he could have used," Richter added.

He also recalled the time he feared for Lennon's life as he was about to meet Bob Dylan at the Plaza Hotel in New York. To ensure that everything was in place, Richter had gotten out of the car. Seeing a man speeding his vehicle and driving towards them, he got terrified. But, the man turned out to be a hotel security guard.

On Tuesday, tWitch missed his checkout and to check up on him, hotel staffers went to his room, where they found him deceased in the bathroom from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. TMZ spoke to a few staffers who revealed that no one heard gunfire at any point during tWitch's stay, which isn't shocking to hear given the motel's layout. It has separate units and a U-shaped structure.
To put an end to all the rumours surrounding her exit from the much-awaited project 'Wonder Woman 3', filmmaker Patty Jenkins has finally broken her silence and has shared a statement on Twitter. Last week, it was first reported that Jenkins' iteration of 'Wonder Woman 3' isn't moving forward. A day later, some publications claimed that she walked away from the project after a dispute over notes with Warner Bros.

Seeing the inaccuracies being reported online, the filmmaker came forward to state the facts. Addressing her separation from the sequel of the 2020 film 'Wonder Woman 1984', Jenkins said, "Sigh…I’m not one to take about private career matters, but I will not allow inaccuracies to continue. Here are the facts."

She added, "When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding that there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now."

The 51-year-old continued, "I do not want what has been a beautiful journey with WW to land on a negative note. I have loved and been so honoured to be the person who got to make these last two Wonder Woman films. She is an incredible character. Living in and around her values makes one a better person every day. I wish her and her legacy an amazing future ahead, with or without me."

Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, who has earned droves of LGBTQ fans with her appearances in queer-coded films, casually revealed that she is bisexual in an episode of 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon', which aired on television in September.

Speaking candidly to Fallon about her new cat, which she said she got after her dogs died, the actress said, "My little creatures all passed away. I can't talk about it because I still get upset. It was about a year ago. I was feeling sad.. and I said, I can't get another dog. I just can't,' you know? And (my son) said, 'Well, then get cats.' And I'm bi, so..."

Fallon tried to probe further by asking the star, "So you mean you like dogs and cats?" In response, the actress made a tongue-in-cheek comment. She said, "I'm fluid, I'm very fluid where animals are concerned."

'Nope' actress Keke Palmer is saying yes to motherhood. The actress, 29, is pregnant and expecting her first baby with boyfriend Darius Jackson, she revealed while hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend for the first time.

"There are some rumours going around, people have been in my comments saying, 'Keke's having a baby, Keke's pregnant,' and I wanna set the record straight -- I am!" Palmer exclaimed, ripping open a long grey jacket to reveal her growing baby bump on the Studio 8H stage.

"I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumours about you y'all, but it's even worse when they're correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?" she continued.

"But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I'm going to be a mom," she added.

"Even though some people feel a little weird about me having a baby cause I was a child actor, I just wanna say, look, I'm 29, I'm grown, I have sex, I own a home, I stormed the Capitol on January 6, you know? Things adults do," Palmer said, according to 'People'.

The actress has kept details of her relationship with Jackson under wraps. When appearing on The Tamron Hall Show last November, she opened up about becoming "Instagram official" with Jackson, though the photos with her boyfriend are no longer on her page.

"It became more difficult to hide," Palmer said of choosing to post photos with Jackson at the time. "We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I'm not gonna hide something that makes me happy."
She added: "It's not gonna be everything you see, my job is my job, but at the end of the day this is somebody that is important to me so why not."

In a recent interview, Akon backed Kanye West, once again, for his controversial comments on Adolph Hitler and the Nazis. The Senegalese-American singer also said that even though he disagrees with Ye, he believes that the 45-year-old rapper has the right to hold any opinion or belief. And, despite knowing that he is a Hitler apologist, Akon isn't going to stop taking his side because he believes that "communication is key".

During an interview with Sky News anchor Anna Jones, Akon revealed why he supports Ye and his controversial remarks. He said, "I show support for opinion and I think people will always have a specific opinion and I think the moment we get to the place where we close our minds up to other people's opinion, it kind of doesn't allow us to get to better know each other, better know our mindsets and more than anything better know our movements."

He further added, "I think sometimes we should open up our minds and let things play all the way out and better understand the situation so we have a better solution for it."

Akon said that even though he disagrees with him and he wouldn't mind sharing his POV during a debate, he still doesn't like the idea of shutting Ye down and smothering out his speech just because what he's saying is objectionable to some. He added that he is "a backer of the right to believe what you want to believe" and that "communication is key".

When asked if Ye's comments on Hitler troubled him, Akon responded, "Not really, because those comments don't really affect me personally, and if it does affect you personally then find a way to actually respond in a way to where that conversation can be reciprocated."

Akon's support for Kanye didn't sit well with several netizens and many expressed their outrage on social media.

One wrote, "What a bizarre take by Akon on Kanye’s Alex Jones hate parade, 'I think sometimes we should open up our minds and let things play all the way out and better understand the situation.'…umm @Akon what do we need to understand? Kanye made himself wildly clear. (sic)"

Another commented, "Akon saying Kanye’s comments don’t offend him because he’s not affected personally is literally why the Holocaust happened. (sic)"

He added that he is "a backer of the right to believe what you want to believe" and that "communication is key". (sic)" Another commented, "Akon saying Kanye’s comments don’t offend him because he’s not affected personally is literally why the Holocaust happened. Adidas to launch probe into misconduct allegations against Kanye West

Hollywood actress Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez, in an Instagram post on Thursday, stated that her "faith in humanity has been called into question" ever since the 'Aquaman' actress lost to Johnny Depp in a defamation trial this summer. Henriquez also alleged that her sister has been facing harassment post the June verdict, which found her guilty of defaming her ex-husband.

While sharing a screenshot of an open letter that supports Heard, Henriquez wrote, "To simply say that my faith in humanity has been called into question since the trial/verdict would be a gross understatement."

Alleging that her sister Heard has been getting harrased online ever since the verdict came in June, Henriquez said, "Not only did it highlight some pretty f**king major flaws in the judicial system, it also showed just how deeply misogynistic this world is and how harassment of anyone who speaks out or has a differing opinion is just simply accepted (just take a look at some of the comments on my posts, and undoubtedly this one)."

Henriquez continued, "Its a world that I’m scared to raise my kids in, and every day it just seems harder and harder to navigate and deal with. Until today…. Seeing this letter signed by over 130 experts and organizations now was a much needed breath of fresh air. Finally, the tides are shifting… Finally! #istandwithamberheard,"

Hollywood actress Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez, in an Instagram post on Thursday, stated that her "faith in humanity has been called into question" ever since the 'Aquaman' actress lost to Johnny Depp in a defamation trial this summer.

While sharing a screenshot of an open letter that supports Heard, Henriquez wrote, "To simply say that my faith in humanity has been called into question since the trial/verdict would be a gross understatement." Alleging that her sister Heard has been getting harrased online ever since the verdict came in June, Henriquez said, "Not only did it highlight some pretty f**king major flaws in the judicial system, it also showed just how deeply misogynistic this world is and how harassment of anyone who speaks out or has a differing opinion is just simply accepted (just take a look at some of the comments on my posts, and undoubtedly this one)." Henriquez continued, "Its a world that I’m scared to raise my kids in, and every day it just seems harder and harder to navigate and deal with. Until today…. Seeing this letter signed by over 130 experts and organizations now was a much needed breath of fresh air. Finally, the tides are shifting… Finally! #istandwithamberheard," Check out the post below: View this post on Instagram A post shared by whit heard (@whitheard) Also read: Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde 'taking a break' from dating after nearly 2 years: Report Referring to the organisations and individuals who signed the open letter in support of Amber Heard, Henriquez said that the tides have turned in recent days.
After conducting a year-long investigation into the fatal on-set 'Rust' shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, the Santa Fe County Sheriff's office released a 551-page report detailing its investigation into the case. And, despite painting a picture of throes of chaos unfolding on the set before the deadly tragedy took place on October 21, 2021, the report did not answer one fundamental question: Who brought live ammunition to the set without permission and how did it get into the gun Alec Baldwin was rehearsing with that day?

Among the documents released by the sheriff's office were accounts of witness interviews, including star Alec Baldwin, and messages and emails from the cast and crew members of the film that stand proof of the chaotic and acrimonious conditions that unfolded on the 'Rust' set prior to Hutchins' death.

The documents, however, offered no conclusive answers on how live ammunition got onto the film set and into a replica Colt .45-caliber revolver that was allegedly fired by Baldwin. For those unaware, Baldwin was handed the gun during the rehearsal at a ranch outside Santa Fe.

Baldwin is among the four people who could face criminal charges for the death of the cinematographer, claimed New Mexico District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies in September.

Baldwin has denied responsibility for Hutchins' death and has claimed that live rounds should never have been allowed onto the movie set.

In police interviews and lawsuit filings, the film's armourer, first assistant director, prop supplier and prop master all denied culpability for the shooting.
If rumours and reports are anything to go by, Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are no longer dating each other and they have decided to hit the brakes on their relationship to focus on their priorities.
Before the separation rumours started doing rounds, Wilde was spotted dancing and singing at Styles' November 15 concert in Los Angeles with her daughter Daisy and son Otis, who she co-parents with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis.

Oscar-winning Canadian filmmaker Paul Haggis has lost his civil rape trial against a publicist who accused him of sexual assault following a movie premiere almost a decade ago. A New York jury ruled in favour of the victim on Thursday and found the director guilty of all three counts of rape and sexual abuse. He has been ordered to pay the publicist at least $7.5 million in damages.

The jury consisting of four men and two women deliberated for about six hours before giving a unanimous judgement against Haggis, who wrote and directed the hit film 'Crash', in the civil rape lawsuit following a two-week trial in Manhattan.

In 2017, the 69-year-old was accused by film publicist Haleigh Breest of abusing and raping her in 2013, when she was just 26 years old. She alleged that the director forced him to perform oral sex on him before raping her at his Soho apartment.

Following the verdict, the plaintiff said that Breest was "very grateful" that she had "the opportunity to seek justice and accountability in court and that the jury chose to follow the facts" and believed her.

Breest was working as a freelancer at the 2013 event, which Haggis attended as a guest. Though the director doesn’t deny the sexual encounter, he claims it was consensual.

Haggis does not face any criminal charges in the Breest case.

During the trial, the filmmaker's lawyer Priya Chaudhry suggested that the lawsuit was guided by the Church of Scientology, which Haggis left and has since criticized. The plaintiff's lawyers, however, vehemently denied the accusation.

To ring in Kris Jenner's 67th birthday, her three daughters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim decided to channel their inner momager and recreate some of Kris' most iconic looks. Photos of the three reality TV stars are going viral on social media. The trio were seen rocking Kris's signature pixie cut in the viral snaps. While Kim recreated Kris' look from an old family Christmas card, Khloe paid homage to a 2017 Instagram post of the matriarch and Kourtney recreated her look from Ariana Grande's 'Thank You Next' music video. Kylie, on the other hand, went with a super throwback look of Kris. Donning a long black sequin dress with red lipstick, she recreated one of Kris' memorable looks from the 1980s. Kendall could not be seen in the photos and videos shared by the Kardashian sisters. And, it includes Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Michelle Yeoh, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly and Riccardo Scamarico.

The supernatural thriller film is being headlined by Branagh, who is supposed to reprise his role as Poirot. More details about the film are yet to be revealed.
