Former porn star Stephanie Clifford, widely known as Stormy Daniels, is back to share her riveting account of the 2018 scandal involving former President Donald Trump that rocked the political world. In a new documentary released on Peacock titled Stormy, the actress-turned-director delves deep into the tumultuous aftermath of her revelation about a sexual encounter with Trump before the 2016 presidential election. Here are seven jaw-dropping revelations made in the documentary, shedding light on the enduring repercussions of her decision to speak out:

1. Motivation Behind 60 Minutes Interview

Stormy Daniels' decision to speak out on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper was not driven by financial gain. Despite the massive media attention following the interview, Daniels did not receive any financial compensation. She deliberately chose 60 Minutes for its non-commercial format to dispel accusations of seeking fame and fortune.

2. Real Fear of Retribution

Daniels faced a barrage of death threats and harassment following her public disclosure. She documented instances of being targeted at her home and on the streets. The documentary revealed that one person even shot her horse with a rubber bullet in hopes of drawing her out and another nearly caused a car accident while her young daughter was in the car with her. Daniels feared for her life so she recorded a last will and testament due to concerns of potential harm by political partisans.

3. Betrayal by Attorney Michael Avenatti

The documentary captures the fallout between Daniels and her hush money case attorney, Michael Avenatti, who filed a defamation suit against Trump without her consent. Daniels expressed shock upon learning about the lawsuit through social media and later discovered Avenatti's misappropriation of her book tour earnings. “He betrayed me in every way,” Daniels said. “It’s really heartbreaking and upsetting.”

4. Apology Letter from Avenatti

Avenatti's apology letter to Daniels, received after his conviction for fraud and identity theft, was met with scepticism. Daniels read the letter aloud in the documentary, annotating it with pointed remarks highlighting his betrayal and deceit.

"Dear Stormy, I write to apologise to you for my actions and conduct over the last three years and especially the last three months. I’ve had a significant amount of time to reflect on my life — ['cause you in prison, b****'] our friendship and my legal representation of you. It is obvious that I failed you in many respects and that I disappointed and let you down in multiple ways. I’ve tried my best to serve you in many ways as a friend, confidant, and advisor. I made myself available to you 24/7 and in my support to you. But along the way, I know that I failed. I wish that we could turn back the clock — ['so that I’d be better at stealing from you?'] — turn back the clock so that the mistakes I made would never be repeated. I am truly sorry. Michael," the letter said.

5. Personal Trauma

In the documentary, Daniels also opened up about her traumatic childhood experiences, including sexual abuse at the age of nine. “He’s dead [now]. It was sad. Because I wanted to kill him. I never told anyone, ever,” Daniels said.

6. Public Fight's Affect on Her Marriage

Viewers witnessed the intimate moments of Daniels' strained marriage and eventual separation from her husband amidst public scrutiny. Despite attempts at reconciliation, Daniels couldn't save her then-nine-year-long marriage to her former husband Glen Crain.

7. Unexpected Ally

Amidst the turmoil, Daniels found an unlikely ally in Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney, who expressed genuine concern for her safety following Trump's indictment in 2023 for the hush money scandal.

Here are seven jaw-dropping revelations made in the documentary, shedding light on the enduring repercussions of her decision to speak out: 1. Motivation Behind 60 Minutes Interview Stormy Daniels' decision to speak out on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper was not driven by financial gain. Despite the massive media attention following the interview, Daniels did not receive any financial compensation. She deliberately chose 60 Minutes for its non-commercial format to dispel accusations of seeking fame and fortune. 2. Real Fear of Retribution Daniels faced a barrage of death threats and harassment following her public disclosure. Betrayal by Attorney Michael Avenatti The documentary captures the fallout between Daniels and her hush money case attorney, Michael Avenatti, who filed a defamation suit against Trump without her consent. Daniels expressed shock upon learning about the lawsuit through social media and later discovered Avenatti's misappropriation of her book tour earnings. “He betrayed me in every way,” Daniels said. “It’s really heartbreaking and upsetting.” 4. Apology Letter from Avenatti Avenatti's apology letter to Daniels, received after his conviction for fraud and identity theft, was met with scepticism. Also read: Oscar winner David Seidler dies while fly-fishing during New Zealand trip 5. Personal Trauma In the documentary, Daniels also opened up about her traumatic childhood experiences, including sexual abuse at the age of nine. “He’s dead [now]. It was sad. Because I wanted to kill him. I never told anyone, ever,” Daniels said. 6. Public Fight's Affect on Her Marriage Viewers witnessed the intimate moments of Daniels' strained marriage and eventual separation from her husband amidst public scrutiny. Despite attempts at reconciliation, Daniels couldn't save her then-nine-year-long marriage to her former husband Glen Crain. 7. Unexpected Ally Amidst the turmoil, Daniels found an unlikely ally in Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney, who expressed genuine concern for her safety following Trump's indictment in 2023 for the hush money scandal.

R. Kelly’s lawyer told an appeals court Monday that all kinds of legitimate organizations — even college fraternities — could be deemed racketeering organizations under a law used to convict the R&B superstar at his Brooklyn trial of sexually abusing young fans, including children, for decades.

Attorney Jennifer Bonjean, seeking to reverse his 2021 convictions or to win him a new trial, tried to persuade three judges on the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan that prosecutors improperly used a racketeering statute written to shut down organized crime to go after the singer.

She said it wasn’t fair that prosecutors charged Kelly, 57, with leading a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) enterprise from 1994 to 2018 compromised of individuals who promoted his music and recruited women and girls to engage in illegal sexual activity and to produce child pornography.

“This was not a collection of people who had a purpose to recruit girls for sexual abuse or child pornography,” Bonjean said. “Whether they turned a blind eye, whether some of them suspected that some of these girls were underage, that’s a whole different matter.

“And once we get into that sort of territory, where we’re going to say that constitutes a RICO enterprise, well we have a lot of organizations — we have a lot of frat houses — we have all types of organizations that are now going to become RICO enterprises,” she said in support of the Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling songwriter.

The judges did not immediately rule, but they had plenty of questions for Bonjean and a prosecutor who defended the government’s handling of the case, which resulted in a 30-year prison sentence in June 2022.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kayla Bensing said Kelly’s network of aides and employees were part of the singer’s “system in place that lured young people in to his orbit” before he “took over their lives.”

At trial, several women testified that they were ordered to sign nondisclosure forms and were subjected to threats and punishments such as violent spankings if they broke what one referred to as “Rob’s rules.”

The prosecutor responded by citing numerous instances of testimony, including one in which a woman testified that she told a member of Kelly’s entourage that she was 16 when he asked her age. Others knew some girls were not yet 18 because they booked flights for them and the girls had to provide their birth dates, she noted.

“So this is all evidence that the jury was entitled to infer that Kelly’s inner circle knew what was going on. That he was recruiting and maintaining underage women for sexual activity,” Bensing said.

Movie armorer challenges conviction in fatal shooting of cinematographer by Alec Baldwin

A second man has been charged in connection with the 2005 theft of a pair of ruby slippers that Judy Garland wore in The Wizard of Oz, according to an indictment made public Sunday. Jerry Hal Saliterman, 76, of Crystal, Minnesota, was charged with theft of a major artwork and witness tampering. He did not enter a plea when he made his first appearance Friday in U.S. District Court in St. Paul.

The slippers, adorned with sequins and glass beads, were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in the late actor’s hometown of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, nearly 20 years ago and their whereabouts remained a mystery until the FBI recovered them in 2018.

The indictment says that from August 2005 to July 2018 Saliterman “received, concealed, and disposed of an object of cultural heritage” — specifically, “an authentic pair of ‘ruby slippers’ worn by Judy Garland in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz.” The indictment says Saliterman knew they were stolen, and that he threatened to release a sex tape of a woman and “take her down with him” if she didn’t keep her mouth shut about the slippers.

Saliterman was in a wheelchair and on supplemental oxygen during his Friday court appearance. His oxygen machine hummed throughout the hearing and he bounced his knee nervously during breaks in the proceedings. He responded with “yes,” when U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Cowan Wright asked whether he understood the charges against him, but he said nothing about the allegations.

The case was not openly discussed in court. The magistrate ordered Friday that the indictment be unsealed, but it did not become publicly available until Sunday.

Saliterman’s attorney, John Brink, said after Friday’s hearing that he couldn’t say much about the case, but: “He’s not guilty. He hasn’t done anything wrong.” Saliterman, who was released on his own recognizance, declined to comment to The Associated Press outside the courthouse.

The man who stole the slippers, Terry Jon Martin, 76, pleaded guilty in October to the theft of a major artwork, admitting to using a hammer to smash the glass of the museum’s door and display case in what his attorney said was an attempt to pull off “one last score” after turning away from a life of crime. He was sentenced in January to time served because of his poor health.

Martin’s lawyer said in court documents that an old associate of Martin’s with connections to the mob told him the shoes had to be adorned with real jewels to justify their $1 million insured value.

Martin, who lives near Grand Rapids, said at an October hearing that he hoped to take what he thought were real rubies from the shoes and sell them. But a person who deals in stolen goods, known as a fence, informed him the rubies weren’t real, Martin said. So he got rid of the slippers.

Defence attorney Dane DeKrey wrote in court documents that Martin’s unidentified former associate persuaded him to steal the slippers as “one last score,” even though Martin had seemed to have “finally put his demons to rest” after finishing his last prison term nearly 10 years earlier.

“But old habits die hard, and the thought of a ‘final score’ kept him up at night,” DeKrey wrote.

According to DeKrey’s memo, Martin had no idea about the cultural significance of the ruby slippers and had never seen The Wizard of Oz.

The documents unsealed Sunday do not indicate how Martin and Saliterman may have been connected.

In the classic 1939 musical, Garland’s character, Dorothy, had to click the heels of her ruby slippers three times and repeat, “There’s no place like home,” to return to Kansas from Oz. She wore several pairs during filming, but only four authentic pairs are known to remain.

The FBI never disclosed exactly how it tracked down the slippers. The bureau said a man approached the insurer in 2017 and claimed he could help recover them but demanded more than the $200,000 reward being offered. The slippers were recovered during an FBI sting in Minneapolis the next year. Federal prosecutors have put the slippers’ market value at about $3.5 million.

Hollywood memorabilia collector Michael Shaw had loaned the pair to the museum before Martin stole them. The other pairs are held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Smithsonian Museum of American History and a private collector. According to John Kelsh, founding director of the museum, the slippers were returned to Shaw and are being held by an auction house that plans to sell them.

Garland was born Frances Gumm in 1922. She lived in Grand Rapids, about 200 miles (320 kilometres) north of Minneapolis, until she was 4 when her family moved to Los Angeles. She died in 1969. The Judy Garland Museum, which includes the house where she lived, says it has the world’s largest collection of Garland and “Wizard of Oz” memorabilia.

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, was unable to attend the Irish Guards' traditional St. Patrick's Day parade reportedly due to her ongoing recovery from abdominal surgery. This marks a departure from her usual participation in the annual event, where she plays a significant role as the honourary Colonel of the Irish Guards.

Kate Middleton misses traditional St Patrick’s Day parade amid speculations about health woes

A plot to assassinate a rapper performing at an event during Austin's South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival last week has been foiled by Austin police, according to an affidavit obtained by Fox 7 Austin.

The alleged plan was slated to unfold during a show on March 10, which was not officially associated with the SXSW festival. Many such events take place in Austin during SXSW, aiming to capitalise on the influx of crowds during the film and TV festival.

According to the report, the Austin police found a man at a Sixth Street club carrying an unregistered handgun. Identified as 38-year-old Pierre Laday Jones, the man voluntarily disclosed to police that he was aware of two individuals planning an assassination on March 10. The target, although not specified, was reportedly slated to testify in court.

Jones, along with his associate 39-year-old Don Lee Bennett, were subsequently arrested and charged with a third-degree felony of possession of a firearm by a felon. Additionally, Jones faces a harassment charge, classified as a Class B misdemeanour. A third individual mentioned in the affidavit has not yet faced charges.

According to Jones' statement in the affidavit, Bennett and the unnamed third party intended to attend a rap show near downtown Austin's East Sixth Street. Jones allegedly possessed SXSW VIP credentials, purportedly allowing him to bypass security checks at the show. However, SXSW clarified to Fox 7 Austin that no such VIP credentials exist, and festival badges do not grant access to non-SXSW performances.

Jones informed authorities that the men planned to compensate him $450 to deliver the handgun to them at the concert.

Following Jones' cooperation, SWAT officers apprehended Bennett at a Sixth Street club. Because he was found with a handgun, and he had a previous felony conviction for aggravated robbery, he was arrested for unlawful possession, according to the affidavit.

The figure is a striking representation of the Grammy award-winning performer known for hits like "Sweetest Pie," "New Rules," and "Levitating," as well as her cameo in the 2023 film Barbie. Future Nostalgia, released at the beginning of the pandemic, reached a peak of No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in March 2021, almost a year after its debut on the chart. Her singles, "Levitating" and "Don't Start Now," peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. He described the wax figure as a love letter to the superstar and her album Future Nostalgia, which helped uplift spirits during a challenging time. “When the world stopped in 2020, Dua Lipa was the first artist to ensure we all kept dancing in our living rooms with her smash record, Future Nostalgia,” general manager of Madame Tussauds Orlando Paul Gould said in a release. “This figure is a love letter to the superstar and album that held our spirits high during a truly unprecedented time. Her impact on pop music is inspiring, and her addition to Madame Tussauds Orlando is a celebration of her undeniable influence on culture and music across the globe.” On March 13, Dua Lipa announced her highly anticipated third studio album Radical Optimism, set to be released on May 3. She also unveiled the album's track list and cover art, featuring her swimming with what appears to be a shark fin lurking nearby, hinting at the exciting new direction her music is taking.
