The closing ceremony held ahead of the IPL 2022 final saw performances from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and award-winning music director and singer AR Rahman. Both performed songs from popular Bollywood movies and celebrated 15 years of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.

Shah further pointed out&nbsp;that BCCI created bio-bubbles for the 15th season of the IPL which allowed family members to be with players and helped in creating an environment that players enjoyed. “Yes, it’s tough for the players. However, they got a family-like atmosphere inside the hotel bio-bubble. In the case of the IPL, we had hotels dedicated to each team. The whole tournament was held at one place."

“All the teams had their lounges, and recreational centres (to relax and unwind). So, they also enjoyed it,” added the senior BCCI official.

Wriddhiman Saha had dropped a huge bomb in mid-February when he accused a senior journalist of threatening him on text messages, soon after his Test omission. Following India's Test squad announcement for the Sri Lanka home series, Saha revealed that a senior journalist was asking him for an interview and also threatened him after he didn't entertain his messages.

After&nbsp;BCCI's apex council&nbsp;reviewed the probe committee's report regarding the Indian wicketkeeper, with regard to the journo's messages, the Indian cricket board has decided to ban Majumdar for two years on Wednesday (May 04).&nbsp;

As per the latest developments, the apex council of the BCCI has agreed with the recommendations of the BCCI Committee. Hence, it has decided to&nbsp;impose&nbsp;the following sanctions:

2 (two) year ban on getting any accreditation as a member of the press in any of the cricket matches (domestic and international) in India.

2 (two) year ban on getting any interview with any registered players in India.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is reportedly set to impose a two-year ban on journalist and talk show host Boria Majumdar after he was found guilty of 'intimidating' India wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha over an interview request. A three-member BCCI panel had probed the matter after it came to light through a tweet from Saha.

The incident came to light on February 19 when Saha took to Twitter to share screenshots from an unnamed journalist while slamming him for his intimidating texts. Saha's tweet had come on the day India's Test squad for the Sri Lanka series was announced and the wicket-keeper was dropped from the team.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri, meanwhile, called for BCCI president Sourav Ganguly's intervention in the matter to ensure no cricketer has to go through what Saha did. After massive outrage, BCCI decided to form a three-member committee comprising board's vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal and apex council member Prabhtej Bhatia to probe Saha’s allegation.

As per a report in the Indian Express, during the investigation, Saha identified Majumdar and alleged he was bullied for an interview by the talk-show host. Majumdar has now been found guilty of intimidating Saha and is all set to be banned for two years. He won't be allowed to attend any BCCI matches and the Indian cricket board will also ask ICC to blacklist him.

“We will be informing all state units of the Indian cricket board to not allow him inside stadiums. He won’t be given media accreditation for home matches and we will also be writing to ICC to blacklist him. Players will be asked not to engage with him,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by Indian Express.

As per BCCI's guidelines, a team can continue to take part in a fixture if they have at least 12 fit players available to take the field. Seven out of these 12 players should be Indian as a maximum of only 4 overseas players can be part of the playing XI. In case the franchise is not able to field 12 players, the IPL Technical Committee reserves the right to reschedule the game.

The 31-year-old spinner was a part of the Mumbai Indians team in 2013. Later, he joined Royal Challengers Bangalore and was a part for eight years. Over eight years, Chahal managed to take 139 wickets for RCB.

Former BCCI CoA head Vinod Rai has now once again opened up on the whole saga and made a big claim that there were no such 'differences' between the two superstar cricketers.

"This is not correct to say that there were differences between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble. There were no differences between them. I have only written that when the time came to renew Anil Kumble's contract, we consulted the team and then Virat said that the junior members of the team feel intimidated by Anil Kumble because of his discipline. There was nothing like the difference between Kumble and Kohli. Neither I had any such information nor I have written, " said Vinod Rai while in conversation with news agency ANI.

"The board did try to convince Virat Kohli but the selection of coach is done by Cricket's Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman only selected Anil Kumble as coach earlier. I wrote this thing in the book when CAC was selecting the coach that you people should speak to the team and the coach because we were outsiders. If senior players like Sachin, Sourav and VVS speak to the players then the impact is different and if we speak, then it will not be that effective. So, these three spoke to the captain and the coach, " explained Vinod.

He further added, "There is no doubt that Kumble was a good coach we could not have got a better coach than Anil Kumble and that is why, Kumble was selected. The only misfortune was that Kumble got a contract for only one year and I just said that CAC also reappointed to select Anil Kumble but the Kumble-Kohli issue had absolutely no issues. Nothing of this sort came to our notice. I have written in the book that this thing came to our notice in April and we took charge on 30th January. So, we did not get the chance to see it in the space of two months."

At present, both have moved on from the forgettable episode. While Kumble is the head coach of IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kohli's India captaincy era got over officially in early 2022. He had already resigned as the Royal Challengers Bangalore&nbsp;(RCB) captain last year.
