The officials have claimed that the department is only looking at documents related to its business operations and those related to the Indian Amy, as it only covers the business premises of the company and will not raid the residences or any other locations of its directors or promoters.&nbsp;

As per media reports, a team of 60-70 personnel of the department is carrying out the survey&nbsp;and the employees have been asked to not use phones and also to not share details until the search is over

Department officials said after the survey is over, the phones will be returned.

The sources asserted, "we needed some clarifications and for that our team is visiting BBC office and we are carrying out a survey. Our officers have gone to check account books, these are not searches."

The search comes days after the media outlet aired a two-part documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots.

Soon after, the centre blocked multiple YouTube videos and Twitter posts that shared links to the controversial documentary, NDTV reported.

Opposition leaders and students have accused the ruling government of blatant censorship and organised public screenings of the documentary, even students clashed with college authorities over the screening.&nbsp;

People closely working with the BBC newsroom have expressed their anxiety at the corporation's business ties with China's state media, who have attacked Britain's journalists. Concerns have also been raised over the chances of BBC facing accusations of conflict of interest in its news reporting on China.&nbsp;

BBC earning dollars producing China's glossy tourism advertisements: report

Senior female employees of the BBC have accused the management of ignoring them during their 10-year-long legal battle against former local radio jockey Alex Belfield,&nbsp;who was jailed for harassing them online.

The women claimed that the BBC&nbsp;refused to act on their complaint until a high-profile man, Jeremy Vine— an English television and radio personality—was subjected to harassment by Belfield.

They have been demanding an independent probe into the conduct of the BBC management, even though the latter has assured to conduct an internal review "to establish what lessons can be learned".

Belfield, 42, was found guilty by a Nottingham court and subsequently jailed in September for five years for stalking four men, including presenter Jeremy Vine.

However, he was found not guilty of stalking and harassment against four other complainants—all of whom are females.

Belfield was said to hold a grudge against the women after he was sacked from Radio Leeds in 2011, where they all worked at one time.

Judge Pushpinder Singh&nbsp;Saini said&nbsp;that Belfield “weaponised the internet” by recruiting an “army of followers” to join in his abuse, which amplified the abuse and “is in many respects more serious than a conventional stalker”.

However, in the case of the women, Justice Saini ruled that the four women were targeted by Belfield in “a personal campaign of revenge”.

One of the women victims, Liz Green, expressed disappointment over the conduct of the BBC and the manner in which they refused to let an independent probe to be conducted as demanded by them.

“This is so deeply disappointing but no surprise,” the Guardian quoted Green, who is negotiating a departure from the BBC.

“On one level, whatever they offer to do about four women left exposed to threat and ignored for 10 years, it’s come far too late. On another, their refusal for an independent inquiry is shocking. There is no BBC stalking policy as we speak. It could be interpreted as a reluctance to expose systemic failings and a complete failure in duty of care. Perhaps that independent review would expose those at the very top (men) who left us exposed.”

Belfield, 42, was found guilty by a Nottingham court and subsequently jailed in September for five years for stalking four men, including presenter Jeremy Vine. However, he was found not guilty of stalking and harassment against four other complainants—all of whom are females. Belfield was said to hold a grudge against the women after he was sacked from Radio Leeds in 2011, where they all worked at one time. Judge Pushpinder Singh Saini said that Belfield “weaponised the internet” by recruiting an “army of followers” to join in his abuse, which amplified the abuse and “is in many respects more serious than a conventional stalker”. However, in the case of the women, Justice Saini ruled that the four women were targeted by Belfield in “a personal campaign of revenge”. One of the women victims, Liz Green, expressed disappointment over the conduct of the BBC and the manner in which they refused to let an independent probe to be conducted as demanded by them. “This is so deeply disappointing but no surprise,” the Guardian quoted Green, who is negotiating a departure from the BBC. “On one level, whatever they offer to do about four women left exposed to threat and ignored for 10 years, it’s come far too late. On another, their refusal for an independent inquiry is shocking. There is no BBC stalking policy as we speak. It could be interpreted as a reluctance to expose systemic failings and a complete failure in duty of care. Years after the popular British sitcom 'The Office' bid adieu to the world, the cult show is getting an Arabic makeover. In the latest development, BBC Studios has been said to be teaming up with Dubai based MBC Studios for its first Arabic language adaptation of the show.

The Arabic remake of the BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning comedy series is titled 'Al Maktab' and will entirely be shot in Saudi Arabia.&nbsp;

Italy's Alessandro Martella has been roped in as the director of photography, while Egypt's Hisham Fathi will direct the Arabic version.&nbsp;

The shoot of MBC Studios will go on the floor from June, wherein it is said that the BBC Studios International team will be giving input during the shoot.&nbsp;

United, who are one of the most successful clubs in English football, endured a disappointing campaign in the recently-concluded 2021-22 season as they failed to finish inside the top four in the Premier League. The pictures of BBC's gaffe during a live show soon went viral on social media inviting angry reactions from some United fans.

The incident happened during a live broadcast on Tuesday when the message 'Manchester United are rubbish' flashed up for a few seconds in the ticker. The ticker is a strip at the bottom of the screen which has current headlines running on it. BBC was quick to realise their mistake and issued an apology to those offended.

BBC presenter Annita McVeigh, who was presenting during the gaffe, read out an apology and revealed the message popped due to the mistake of a trainee, who was trying to learn how to use the ticker. McVeigh further said that the message was not supposed to appear on the screen.

“Just while we are on the subject of football, a little earlier some of you may have noticed something pretty unusual on the ticker that runs along the bottom of the screen with news. Making a comment about Manchester United and I hope Manchester United fans weren’t offended by it," said McVeigh as she apologised for the gaffe.

“Let me just explain what was happening. Behind the scenes, someone was training to learn how to use the ticker and to put text on the ticker so they were just writing random things. That comment appeared, so apologies if you saw that and we offended and you’re a fan of Manchester United. But certainly, that was a mistake and it wasn’t meant to appear on the screen," she added.

In honour of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, a new BBC documentary titled 'Elizabeth: the Unseen Queen' will be premiered. Like the title, the short film will feature a never before seen footage of Queen's personal life. 
 
The documentary will air on 29 May on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. 
 
As per BBC, the documentary will follow the monarch's life as a princess in her own eyes and own words,&nbsp; 
 
The 75 minute special will show the life of Queen Elizabeth from a very young age until her coronation at the age of 27 in 1953. It will also show some hidden clips from her engagement ceremony, and as a young mother spending time with young Prince Charles.&nbsp;

Journalists will also be penalised if they publish news contradicting officials' statements on Kremlin's war in Ukraine.

On Friday, Russia's media watchdog said it had restricted access to the BBC and other independent media websites and blocked social media giant Facebook.

The passage of law triggered pushback from western news outlets, with BBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corp (CBC), CNN and Bloomberg suspending their operations in the country.

BBC&nbsp;Director-General Tim Davie said the legislation "appears to criminalise the process of independent journalism".

&nbsp;"It leaves us no other option than to temporarily suspend the work of all BBC News journalists and their support staff within the Russian Federation while we assess the full implications of this unwelcome development," he said in a statement.

Bloomberg News said it was also temporarily suspending the work of its journalists inside Russia.

In a statement, it said that it was ‘very concerned’ about the law, which ‘appears to criminalise independent reporting on the current situation in Ukraine and Russia’.

Labour media spokeswoman Lucy Powell said monthly payments for the license fee were small change compared to proposed Tory annual tax increases and soaring energy bills totalling thousands of pounds.

"Is the license fee really at the heart of the cost of living crisis or is this really about their long-term vendetta against the BBC?" she asked

"It's at the heart of Operation Red Meat to stop the prime minister becoming dead meat," she added, referring to a proposed government fight-back plan of populist measures to boost Johnson's standing.

The BBC has come under increasing criticism from right-wingers since Britain's divisive Brexit referendum in 2016 for alleged political bias, and pushing a "woke", London-centric liberal agenda.

But the public service broadcaster, which this year marks its 100th anniversary and has editorial independence from government, has faced similar accusations from the political left.

Critics accused Johnson loyalist Dorries, who leaked details of the plan on Twitter on Sunday night after a torrid week for the prime minister, of "cultural vandalism", wrecking a world-renowned British institution.

The licence fee funds television, radio and online services, including its popular iPlayer on-demand platform, as well as programming, many of which are exported commercially worldwide.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has denounced Beijing for taking a "hypocritical stance" after the Chinese authorities accused the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) of broadcasting "fake news" while covering Henan floods.

This statement came just days after the youth division of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) published online death threats against foreign journalists covering the floods in central China's Henan province, triggering a wave of physical, verbal and online harassment against them.

"China, one of the world's worst abusers of press freedom, has no journalism lessons to give to the BBC, and is showing outrageous hypocrisy by accusing it of broadcasting "fake news" while it is itself the world's number one exporter of propaganda contents", says the head of RSF East Asia bureau, Cedric Alviani, who deplores "the growing habit of authoritarian regimes who systematically brand factual information which don't match the official narrative as fake news".

"In recent years, the Chinese regime has increased intimidation, harassment and surveillance on foreign correspondents, their local assistants and their sources. In 2020, at least 18 correspondents were forced to leave the country and several foreign journalists'&nbsp;visa requests were denied without explanation," the statement added.

Some reporters from the Los Angeles Times and Deutsche Welle had to face angry crowds in Zhengzhou who believed the media personnel were slandering China.

Mathias Boelinger and Alice Su, two reporters in Henan, were doing on-ground coverage of the floods and the aftermath of the deadly natural disaster. They were reporting about how the underground markets of the area were flooded which had led to shopkeepers losing their assets.

His younger brother Prince Harry and Diana`s brother Charles Spencer have said the interview was part of a series of unethical practices that ultimately cost Diana her life in a car crash in Paris in 1997. 
 
"I don’t feel I can be held responsible for many of the other things that were going on in her life, and the complex issues surrounding those decisions," Bashir told The Sunday Times in an interview. 
 
"I can understand the motivation... but to channel the tragedy, the difficult relationship between the royal family and the media purely on to my shoulders feels a little unreasonable ... The suggestion I am singularly responsible I think is unreasonable and unfair." 
 
The Sunday Times quoted Bashir as admitting that he used forged bank statements which the inquiry said was part of the deception of Diana . "Obviously I regret it, it was wrong,” he told the newspaper. “But it had no bearing on anything. It had no bearing on (Diana), it had no bearing on the interview.” 
 
Britain`s government said on Friday it would examine how the BBC was run after the inquiry criticised the broadcaster for its "woefully ineffective" investigation into Bashir`s actions.

A former BBC&nbsp;chief&nbsp;who was criticised for his "woefully ineffective"&nbsp;probe&nbsp;into Martin Bashir's deception in securing a bombshell interview with Princess&nbsp;Diana&nbsp;on Saturday resigned as chair of Britain's National Gallery.

Journalist Bashir tricked&nbsp;Diana&nbsp;into giving a 1995 BBC television interview in which she lifted the lid on her troubled marriage to Prince Charles, an independent investigation concluded on Thursday.

Tony Hall, who had led an earlier investigation into the interview and was later named head of the BBC, said he had "today resigned as Chair of the National Gallery.

"As I said two days ago, I am very sorry for the events of 25 years ago and I believe leadership means taking responsibility," he said in a statement released by the world-renowned London gallery.

Retired senior judge John Dyson said Bashir commissioned faked bank statements that falsely suggested some of&nbsp;Diana's closest aides were being paid by the security services to keep tabs on her.

Bashir then showed them to&nbsp;Diana's brother Charles Spencer, in a succesful bid to convince him to arrange a meeting between himself and&nbsp;Diana&nbsp;and earn her trust.

Questions have long been asked about how Bashir convinced&nbsp;Diana&nbsp;to talk on the BBC's flagship "Panorama" programme in November 1995, which was watched by a record 22.8 million people and won a string of television awards.

'Woeful incompetence'&nbsp;

He returned to work for the corporation as religion editor until he stepped&nbsp;down&nbsp;last week, citing ill health, just hours before Dyson's report was submitted to BBC bosses.

A 1996 internal inquiry by Hall cleared Bashir of wrong-doing, but Dyson called that&nbsp;probe&nbsp;"flawed and woefully ineffective".

In particular, it did not ask&nbsp;Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, for his version of events, Dyson said, lambasting it for failing to scrutinise Bashir's actions properly.

"If they had been able to test Mr Bashir's account by asking him to comment on Earl Spencer's detailed account, it is very unlikely that they would have believed him and concluded that he was an 'honest and an honourable man'," he wrote.

Hall admitted that the&nbsp;probe&nbsp;"fell well short of what was required", and said he was "wrong to give Martin Bashir the benefit of the doubt".

Diana's son Prince William said the interview had made "a major contribution" to the demise of his parents' relationship, while the BBC's "woeful incompetence" in uncovering the truth had "contributed significantly to her fear, paranoia and isolation" in her final years.

Diana&nbsp;died in a high-speed car crash while being chased by paparazzi photographers in 1997.

The journalist recently has been attacked by state media and authorities for his reporting on alleged labour practices to target Uighur Muslim minorities, especially in Xinjiang's cotton industry.&nbsp;

The British broadcaster also confirmed Sudworth's relocation after state media tabloid Global Times on Wednesday reported he was "hiding" in Taiwan.&nbsp;
