<p>Scientists fear that not only is our race polluting yet another planet, even as we struggle to save ours, but that this trash could contaminate the samples being collected by NASA’s Perseverance rover and endanger the missions worth millions of dollars&nbsp;to search for signs of life on mars.</p>

<p>However, the report points out that much of the discarded parts had to be abandoned in order to preserve ships as they soar through the Red Planet's harsh atmosphere. An example of this is NASA's Perseverance, which weathered seven minutes of hell when it landed in February 2021, and also resulted in the creation of an unavoidable amount of trash.</p>

<p>Kilic claims that the majority of the robots are still in working order and that space agencies consider them as historical artefacts rather than scrap metal.</p>

<p>"Antifreeze proteins stick to the surface of smaller ice crystals and slow or prevent them from growing into larger, and more dangerous, crystals,” Gruber said in his research paper.</p>

<p>"Fish from both the North and South Poles independently evolved these proteins," he added.</p>

<p>"The ecological diversity of the Gulf of Mexico may be more complex than [previously] thought. I was skeptical. Since Enoshima Aquarium in Japan only purchased B. giganteus, I always thought it was B. giganteus," study lead author Huang Ming-Chih told Live Science.</p>

<p>The discovery was made when Huang obtained the specimen from the Enoshima Aquarium in Japan under the assumption that it was B. giganteus. However, an analysis by the team showed that it was different on a cellular level and showed qualities which were not found earlier.</p>

<p>The pools lack the typical creatures that inhabit and survive on the seabed, such as burrowing shrimp, worms, and mollusks, because the brine lacks oxygen. Typically, these creatures "bioturbate" or "churn up" the seafloor, upsetting the sediments that build up there, according to Purkis. "Not so with the brine pools. Here, any sedimentary layers that settle to the bed of the brine pool remain exquisitely intact."</p>

<p>In addition to records of earthquakes and tsunami, the core samples that the researchers took from the newly discovered brine lakes "represent an unbroken record of past rainfall in the region, stretching back more than 1,000 years," said Purkis.</p>

<p>While the creatures are not a threat, Sokolnikoff warned the people at the beach against touching them. He also said that while humans are safe, sea hares may cause reactions in certain dogs.</p>

<p>“If you don‘t know what it is, you don’t want to be touching it. Observe from a distance but don’t touch anything that you’re not sure what it is. That disturbs the sea life as a general rule,” he said.</p>

<p>Any life form in sufficient abundance is expected to leave chemical fingerprints on a planet's atmosphere as it consumes food and expels waste. However, the Cambridge researchers found no evidence of these fingerprints on Venus.</p>

<p>Even if Venus is devoid of life, the researchers say their results, reported in the journal Nature Communications, could be useful for studying the atmospheres of similar planets throughout the galaxy, and the eventual detection of life outside our Solar System.</p>

<p>"We've spent the past two years trying to explain the weird sulphur chemistry we see in the clouds of Venus," said co-author Dr Paul Rimmer from Cambridge's Department of Earth Sciences. "Life is pretty good at weird chemistry, so we've been studying whether there's a way to make life a potential explanation for what we see."</p>

<p>To arrive at their conclusion, researchers used atmospheric and biochemical models to study chemical reactions that are expected to occur on Venus.</p>

<p>"We looked at the sulphur-based 'food' available in the Venusian atmosphere -- it's not anything you or I would want to eat, but it is the main available energy source," said Sean Jordan from Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy, the paper's first author. "If that food is being consumed by life, we should see evidence of that through specific chemicals being lost and gained in the atmosphere."</p>

<p>"If life is present, it must be affecting the atmospheric chemistry," said co-author Dr Oliver Shorttle from Cambridge's Department of Earth Sciences and Institute of Astronomy. "Could life be the reason that SO2 levels on Venus get reduced so much?"</p>

<p>"We wanted life to be a potential explanation, but when we ran the models, it isn't a viable solution. But if life isn't responsible for what we see on Venus, it's still a problem to be solved -- there's lots of strange chemistry to follow up on," said Sean Jordan</p>

<p>According to its findings, an 18-year-old soldier and a five-year-old kindergartener who contacted the unidentified materials “in a hill around barracks and residential quarters” in the eastern county of Kumgang in early April showed symptoms and later tested positive for the coronavirus.</p>

<p>“The investigation results showed that several persons coming from the area of Ipho-ri in Kumgang County of Kangwon Province to the capital city in mid-April were in fever and a sharp increase of fever cases was witnessed among their contacts,” the state media said.</p>

<p>The KCNA said all other fever cases reported in the country till mid-April were due to other diseases, but it did not elaborate.</p>

<p>North Korea has been battling its first outbreak of Covid infections, declaring a state of emergency in May after years of enforcing tight restrictions to prevent the virus from entering the country.</p>

<p>In July 2020, North’s leader Kim Jong Un declared an emergency and imposed a three-week lockdown on Kaesong town, near the inter-Korean border, after a man who defected to the South in 2017 returned to the city showing COVID symptoms.</p>

<p>"Beacon in the Galaxy," an interstellar message, contains a wide variety of information: basic concepts in math and physics on communication, digital images of the human form, elements of DNA, a time-stamped depiction of the solar system, and Earth’s system. It ends with an invitation for the aliens to beam back a reply.</p>

<p>In an interesting twist, the scientists say the position of the planet is incorporated in hopes of not only receiving a message from aliens but also receiving a physical vehicle to Earth at "some point in the future".</p>

<p>Dr Jonathan Jiang of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is heading the experiment. The group of researchers plans to broadcast the message right into the heart of the Milky Way, using the Seti Institute’s Allen Telescope Array in California and the Chinese 500-metre Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope.</p>

NASA to beam out Earth's location into space. Experts warn that it just might invite an alien invasion!

<p>A small, strange-looking creature was found on the streets of Sydney, Australia, and it has baffled biologists. Instagram user Harry Hayes shared a video showing the bizarre-looking creature.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to reports by Ladbible, he was jogging on a Monday morning at the Marrickville suburb of Sydney when he stumbled upon the creature.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, he can be seen poking the creature with a stick. However, it remains unmoved.&nbsp;</p>

<p>NASA's&nbsp;administrator and former US senator Bill Nelson recently opined on the ongoing debacle about the existence of aliens, propelled partly by the intelligence&nbsp;reports released by US authorities on UFO sightings.</p>

<p>“The report basically says what we thought. We don’t know the answer to what those Navy pilots saw but they know that they know something”, Nelson told CNN this week.</p>

<p>“They tracked it and locked their radar on to it. It moved quickly from one location to another”, he added.</p>

<p>The classified report mentions Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) but fails to identify the objects and is largely inconclusive. “The report tells us that there have been 140 of these sightings”, Nelson said while adding that NASA scientists are currently assessing the footage from a scientific point of view.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“My feeling is that there is clearly something there. It may not be an extraterrestrial [object]”, he added while suggesting that these aircraft could belong to the adversaries of US, which he called extremely concerning.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The NASA administrator talked about the agency’s ongoing programmes that focus on finding extraterrestrial life, while suggesting that they could find no technology linking the objects to alien life.</p>

<p>“People are hungry to know”, Nelson said while referring to the Navy videos which caused a fury on social media and ignited global interest in aliens potentially lurking in the shadows.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Are we alone? Personally, I don’t think we are”, Nelson said while stressing on the vastness of the universe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the possibility of alien life elsewhere in the universe, Nelson spoke about recent evidence of conditions necessary for life to persist. “We are already finding examples of other planets around other suns”, he said.</p>

<p>Speaking briefly about the upcoming November launch of the James Webb Telescope, Nelson said that the tech “will peek back in time… almost to the beginning”, which could answer a lot of questions about the formation of our solar system and perhaps the universe itself.</p>

NASA's administrator and former US senator Bill Nelson recently opined on the ongoing debacle about the existence of aliens, propelled partly by the intelligence reports released by US authorities on UFO sightings. “The report basically says what we thought. We don’t know the answer to what those Navy pilots saw but they know that they know something”, Nelson told CNN this week. “They tracked it and locked their radar on to it. It moved quickly from one location to another”, he added. The classified report mentions Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) but fails to identify the objects and is largely inconclusive. “The report tells us that there have been 140 of these sightings”, Nelson said while adding that NASA scientists are currently assessing the footage from a scientific point of view. “My feeling is that there is clearly something there. It may not be an extraterrestrial [object]”, he added while suggesting that these aircraft could belong to the adversaries of US, which he called extremely concerning. The NASA administrator talked about the agency’s ongoing programmes that focus on finding extraterrestrial life, while suggesting that they could find no technology linking the objects to alien life. “People are hungry to know”, Nelson said while referring to the Navy videos which caused a fury on social media and ignited global interest in aliens potentially lurking in the shadows. “Are we alone? Personally, I don’t think we are”, Nelson said while stressing on the vastness of the universe. On the possibility of alien life elsewhere in the universe, Nelson spoke about recent evidence of conditions necessary for life to persist. “We are already finding examples of other planets around other suns”, he said. Speaking briefly about the upcoming November launch of the James Webb Telescope, Nelson said that the tech “will peek back in time… almost to the beginning”, which could answer a lot of questions about the formation of our solar system and perhaps the universe itself.
