Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals (RC) on Monday (Apr 28) in Delhi by 9 wickets. Bowling first, RCB bowled DC out for a mere 75 runs and achieved the under-par target in 6.3 overs. With the win, defending champion RCB are now second in the 10-team points table with 12 points from six wins and two losses in eight games. As for DC, things have gotten even murkier as they slipped down to the seventh spot with just six points from three wins and five losses in eight matches played. 75 is DC's third lowest score in the franchise history behind 66 and 67 in IPL 2017 against MI and Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab), respectively.
Bhuvneshwar-Hazlewood blow away Delhi
DC's innigs could never get going after Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood hit Test match lengths and shared seven wickets between them for just 17 runs in 6.3 overs bowled combined. It all started in the first over with Bhuvi sending back DC's Sahil Parekh for a duck on IPL debut. Hazlewood then dismissed KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi on consecutive balls in the next over. Bhuvi returned in the third over and sent back Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel before Hazlewood dismissed Nitish Rana to paralyze DC in the next over at six down for just eight runs. DC finished the powerplay at 13/6 - the lowest ever score by a team in the first six overs in IPL.
Abhishek Porel (30), David Miller (19), and Kyle Jamieson (12) scored in the doble figures as DC eventually were bowled out for 75 in 16.3 overs. Hazlewood was named Player of the Match (POTM) for his 4/12 while Bhuvi picked up 3/5.

During the chase, RCB came out all guns blazing to boost their net run rate. Jacob Bethell smashed 20 off 11 before getting out in the third over but RCb were already through 1/3rd of the target by then. Virat Kohli (23 not out off 15) and DevDutt Padikkal (34 not out off 13) then added 51 runs in 24 balls to see the team through in 6.3 overs and nine wickets left.
