Shoaib Akhtar pulled up by cybercrime unit for 'spreading propaganda and false allegations against PCB' - Report

Former Pakistan pacer, Shoaib Akhtar, has been pulled up by the cybercrime unit for ‘spreading propaganda and false allegations against the Pakistan Cricket Board’. Akhtar, who has been controversy’s favourite child, finds himself in trouble after the PCB reportedly filed a complaint with the cybercrime unit of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in relation to commenting on PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan.

The complaint from the PCB also came against board members, Noman Butt, Tariq Sarwar and Shakeel Shaik, with the latter particularly accused of using inappropriate language against the PCB CEO, according to a report in Cricket Pakistan.

Several former cricketers including Akhtar have spoken strongly against the PCB and its cricketing system with many urging to bring more reputed players within the board for the betterment of Pakistan cricket. However, the PCB is determined to not let former players damage its image in public.

Akhtar had earlier called PCB’s legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi “legally defective, merit-less and misconceived” while also calling against ‘harsh’ ruling for batsman Umar Akmal after he failed to report corrupt approaches.

However, Akhtar seems unmoved as he said whatever he said was for the betterment of Pakistan cricket while adding his comments on Rizvi were based on his personal interaction with him.

"Whatever I said on my channel was for the betterment of Pakistan cricket and to point out to the board where it needed to put things right. Whatever I said about Rizvi was based on my personal interaction with him.”
