Story highlights

IPL 2026: Sameer Rizvi shone for DC against home state team LSG while RCB and MI chased down 200+ totals, thanks to fearless batting. For PBKS, it was Cooper Connolly and Rajasthan Royals bushed aside CSK on back of extreme frontline pacers.

IPL 2026 is up and running with each team playing one match at least. Of course, there are only five winners awhile remaining five hope to get on the winning end soon. After one match each, the teams have largely found their combination with next couple of games giving them the exact idea about the playing XI. Some teams, meanwhile, like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), may have to do a bit more searching for their optimal final XI, given the number of players injured. Nonetheless, here are the winners and losers of IPL 2026 after one match for each team:

IPL 2026 winners after one match for each team:

RCB's batting - The defending champions started their campaign in some style, chasing down 200+ total in record time against SunRisers Hyderabad. The 202-run target didn't seem to faze RCB as their top order, consisting of Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Rajat Patidar made it clear that the team won't get bogged down in pressure and hitting the ball, irrespective of the situation, is going to their motto.

Mumbai Indians' new-found fearlessness - Just like RCB, five-time winners Mumbai Indians also started their campaign by chasing down a 200-plus total. This is the first time in franchise history that MI have started the season with a win. Their bowling took a beating against KKR but the batting, couple with KKR's bowling woes, ensured they come out triumphant.

Rajasthan Royals pace bowlers - The much awaited match-up between CSK and Royals, after the swapping of Ravindra Jadeja (from CSK to RR) and Sanju Samson (from RR to CSK), failed to live up to the hype. RR came out winners, thanks to their frontline pace bowling duo of Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer, both of whom decimated CSK top order in no time.
