Deepak Lather clinched the bronze medal in men's 69 kg category

Weightlifter Deepak Lather clinched the bronze medal in men's 69 kg category at the Carrara Stadium on the second day of the Commonwealth Games.

He lifted a combined weight of 295 kg which includes 136 kg in snatch and 159 kg in clean and jerk.

The gold medal was grabbed by Gareth Evans of Wales as he lifted a combined weight of 299 kg, while Sri Lanka's Indika won silver with a lift of 297 kg.

All the four medals for India have from weightlifting. On the first day, Mirabai Chanu grabbed gold for India whereas, P Gururaja opened the medal tally for India by clinching a silver.

Earlier in the day, weightlifter Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu won India its second gold medal at the Games by outshining in the women's 53 kg category event.
