During the implementation period, the airline brought in additional dispensation to the revised FDTL norms; as a result, it also increased flights in the winter schedule. These cancellations may not be entirely due to the revised standards. As the situation unfolded, the airline released a note which highlighted, “A large share of cancellations arose from crew, FDTL compliance and airport, airspace and ATC-related factors, many of which lie beyond the operator's direct control. And as a corrective measure, IndiGo informed that it will be “strengthening crew planning and rostering while adhering to FDTL norms. Enhancing coordination with ATC and airports to manage capacity constraints.”&nbsp;Of the 1232 flights cancelled, 755 (61%) were due to FDTL constraints, the airline reported to the regulator. Because so far as latest figures I have compiled, it’s more than 1,000, maybe it’s a small number for you, but for Seychelles, compared to the number of population, it speaks volumes for us, and it covers many fields,” she said. She noted a steady rise in participation, adding: “We have a lot of people coming to India, officers to be trained. Actually, we have 10 defense officers and police and defence in India. I still say that the number sounds small for you. It’s big for us. It’s big for us.”&nbsp;&nbsp;The high commissioner also pointed out that when Seychellois fall seriously ill, “the first country they say, ‘Let’s go to India’. And now with IndiGo operational, it’s more easier.” Scholarships through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and other programmes have further cemented people-to-people links, she said, seizing the opportunity “to thank India in capacity building.” While praising existing cooperation, Accouche flagged gaps in connectivity and financial services. This comes after the airline responded to the show-cause notice. Last week, the airline faced nationwide cancellations, resulting in hundreds of thousands of passengers being stranded at the airport. On Sunday (Dec 7), IndiGo said that it was “making very significant progress”, although the operator is still facing some disruptions across major Indian airports. DGCA has also demanded that India’s largest operator submit a revised schedule for flights by 5 pm on Wednesday (Dec 10).“It was observed that, as per the Winter Schedule (WS) 2025 issued by DGCA, 15,014 departures per week were approved for M/s Indigo, amounting to 64,346 flights approved for the month of November 2025,” the Director General of Civil Aviation said in the notice.The government body added that, as per the operational data submitted by Indigo, it was found that 59,438 flights were actually operated during November 2025, while 951 were cancelled.

According to Rijiju, the PM said, "It is our responsibility to ensure that no citizen of India faces any hardship from the government simply because they are Indian citizens. Rules and regulations are good… but they should be used to improve the system, not harass the public."

Earlier on Monday, Union Minister for Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu slammed IndiGo CEO for the mess and informed that PM Modi instructed his department to “focus on passengers.” “Yes, he [PM Modi] asked. He guided us. Told us to focus on passengers, do more for them than what is required," ANI quoted Rammohan Naidu saying. Naidu also said, “IndiGo CEO and management failed in containing its operational crisis and flight cancellations that led to huge difficulties for passengers.”<h2>How IndiGo crisis unfolded?</h2>The IndiGo crisis &nbsp;began in late November with massive delays in flights due to a failure in the airline's internal crew management. This happened as the Indian government enrolled pilot duty-time regulations. IndiGo faced issues in rostering system due to unavailability of pilots, resulting in cancellation of hundreds of flights. Pilot bodies and the government alleged that IndiGo was aware of the new rules for months but failed to hire enough crew. IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers issued an apology promising to return to normalcy by Dec 10. Meanwhile, Centre gave temporary, one-time exemptions to IndiGo for normalising the situations. In a big move on Dec 9, the Indian government directed IndiGo to reduce the schedule of its flights &nbsp;by 5 per cent across sectors. IndiGo has been directed to submit a revised schedule by 5 pm on December 10.&nbsp;

Farmers have pointed to falling rice prices, claiming imports from countries like India, Vietnam and Thailand are undercutting their crops. "They shouldn't be dumping," Trump said. "I mean, I heard that, I heard that from others. You can't do that." He also suggested possible tariff measures on fertiliser coming from Canada to encourage local production. "A lot of it does come in from Canada, and so we'll end up putting very severe tariffs on that, if we have to, because that's the way you want to bolster here," he said, adding, "And we can do it here. Delhi's former chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, took a dig at the current CM, Rekha Gupta, over the pollution in the national capital. Gupta remarked that the government was using mist sprayers to contain pollution at hotspots. Kejriwal said in a social media post that Gupta's comments made it clear that the government is working to "hide" the pollution data.
