Police sources said videos circulating on social media appear to show the youths recording themselves moments before the accident. At least 10 patients died and 11 hospital staff members suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out in the trauma care ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha early Monday (Mar 16). The injured staff members sustained burns while evacuating patients from the intensive care unit. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has rushed to the hospital to assess the situation, officials added.&nbsp;Multiple fire engines were deployed at the site as rescue and firefighting operations continued. According to eyewitnesses, the blaze broke out between 2:30 am and 3:00 am. While the exact cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, officials suspect a possible short circuit may have triggered the incident. Fire brigade teams managed to control the flames soon after reaching the hospital. However, officials said several patients who were on ventilator support in the ICU reportedly died due to suffocation during the incident. Authorities are yet to officially confirm the final death toll.

At least 10 patients died and 11 hospital staff members suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out in the trauma care ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha early Monday (Mar 16). The injured staff members sustained burns while evacuating patients from the intensive care unit. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has rushed to the hospital to assess the situation, officials added. Multiple fire engines were deployed at the site as rescue and firefighting operations continued. According to eyewitnesses, the blaze broke out between 2:30 am and 3:00 am. While the exact cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, officials suspect a possible short circuit may have triggered the incident. Fire brigade teams managed to control the flames soon after reaching the hospital. However, officials said several patients who were on ventilator support in the ICU reportedly died due to suffocation during the incident. Authorities are yet to officially confirm the final death toll.

According to media reports a number of these students hail from Jammu and Kashmir and had gone to Iran to pursue medical studies.&nbsp;The Indian Embassy, in coordination with the Government of India, initiated the process to safely evacuate the students, who will head to their homes after landing at the IGI international airport in Delhi.&nbsp;According to Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, National Vice President of the All India Medical Students Association, there are approximately 1,000 to 1,200 Indians studying at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences.&nbsp;Falling missiles and regular bombardments has become a matter of grave concern for the Indian students residing there.&nbsp;The Indian Embassy in Tehran immediately sprang to action and evacuated several students from the affected areas and relocated them to safe locations. Arrangements were also made for the students to stay in secure hotels and safe houses, said Khan.&nbsp;&nbsp;

First batch of Indian students return home from war-hit Iran

Amid escalating hostilities in West Asia, SpiceJet has announced to operate special flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India for Indian nationals returning to the country. The airlines will be operating seven special flights from Fujairah and two from Dubai on March 15 and March 16. This comes as many foreign nationals remain stranded in the Gulf nations following airspace restrictions amid the conflict.On March 15, the airline is running three special flights from Fujairah to India. Two of the flights will connect Fujairah with New Delhi, while another will land in Mumbai. In addition, a special flight from Dubai to Pune is also being operated to help passengers return home.On March 16, the airline plans to operate four more flights from Fujairah to India, along with another one from Dubai. SpiceJet said it has been coordinating with airport authorities and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and efficient passenger handling.Earlier on March 4, the airlines operated eight special flights from the UAE to facilitate the return of Indian nationals.<h2>IndiGo, Air India cancel flights</h2>Earlier today, IndiGo and Air India cancelled their flights due to the conflict in West Asia. The Union ports, shipping, and waterways ministry provided an update on the maritime situation in the Persian Gulf region and the steps being taken to ensure the safety of Indian seafarers and vessels. The identified accused, Chuks, was arrested by the WR-II team near Tilak Nagar Metro Station after police received specific information about his movement in the area. Police said Chuks, a Nigerian citizen, had been declared a Proclaimed Offender in a case filed in 2021 at Industrial Area Police Station, Chandigarh, under the NDPS Act, according to a report by the news agency ANI. Investigators added that he allegedly supplied drugs in the Tilak Nagar, Dwarka, and Najafgarh areas. The Crime Branch had received a tip-off that he would arrive in Tilak Nagar to meet one of his associates, leading to his arrest. In response to the provided information, the police team laid a trap near Tilak Nagar Metro Station. Later, the accused attempted to escape the trap during the operation and flee the spot; however, the cops managed to overpower and arrest him.<h3>Nigerian businessman turned drug trafficker</h3>During questioning, the accused told investigators that he arrived in India in 2015 on a tourist visa and initially ran a clothing business in the Tilak Nagar area. However, due to financial problems, he later turned to drug trafficking and began supplying narcotic substances from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Police said the accused had earlier been arrested in cases registered under the NDPS Act in Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Further investigation is currently underway.&nbsp;Meanwhile, the Punjab police have busted an ISI-sponsored terror and cross-border arms smuggling module, arresting two accused and recovering rifles, pistols, and cartridges, according to the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab. The initial finding disclosed that the accused were in contact with foreign-based handlers through social media.
