
A 50-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train at a metro station in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
The deceased, identified as Kanwarjeet Singh, took the extreme step allegedly because of his diabetes problem.
The incident took place at the Janakpuri east station when a train to Noida City Centre was entering platform 1.
The man jumped in front of the train and sustained injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by CISF and metro officials, but doctors pronounced him dead.
A suicide note was also recovered from him which said that he had diabetes and did not want to be a burden on his family members.
The letter further said that he was tired of dealing with diabetes and was stressed because of the illness.
The police are probing the incident and trying to find the actual reason behind his step.
Singh was a resident of Tilak Nagar area and is survived by his wife and two sons.
