"There is no hatred here," Rahul Gandhi tweeted Wednesday from the banks of Lake Mansarovar in Tibet.
The Congress president is on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar, the abode of Lord Shiva in Indian mythology.
"A man goes to Kailash when it calls him. I am so happy to have this opportunity and to be able to share what I see on this beautiful journey with all of you," Gandhi tweeted Wednesday.
"The waters of lake Mansarovar are so gentle, tranquil and calm. They give everything and lose nothing. Anyone can drink from them. There is no hatred here. This is why we worship these waters in India," he tweeted a little later.
It is not surprising that Gandhi would want to get away from it all, considering the "hatred" has been following him on the yatra too.
Gandhi had landed in Kathmandu on August 31. A little later a controversy erupted in India after it was reported that Gandhi may have eaten non-vegetarian food (chicken kurkure) while he was there.
Gandhi, who says he is a Shiv bhakt, had vowed to make the pilgrimage after an "incident" in an airplane during the Karnataka elections.
