Karnataka Election Results 2023 full winner list:As per the latest updates on the Karnataka assembly election results, the Congress party, after initially making significant gains, is currently leading in 113 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 76 seats. The Janata Dal-Secular, on the other hand, has extended its lead to 30 seats but has suffered a significant decline in numbers compared to its initial performance. However, both JDS and BJP still have a chance of winning the election, and it remains a triangular fight among BJP, Congress, and JDS. The BJP had hoped to retain power, but it appears to be losing the state.

The Janata Dal-Secular was looking to play the role of kingmaker if neither of the two major parties managed to secure a majority, but it seems that Congress may be a clear winner if the early trends hold. The state had witnessed a record voter turnout of 73.19 per cent during the elections. Exit pollshave predicted a comfortable majority for the Congress party, while the BJP is projected to win 62-80 seats. The JD(S) is likely to get 20-25 seats.

The final results are still awaited, and it remains to be seen whether the initial trends hold or there are any significant changes in the numbers in favour of any party.

Karnataka election result 2023 trends LIVE

Karnataka recorded a record voter turnout of 73.19 per cent in the assembly polls conducted on Wednesday. "Karnataka has created a new record for itself. Final voter turnout for Karnataka Election 2023 stands at 73.19 per cent," said the Chief Electoral Office, Karnataka. The EC also noted that largely peaceful voting was conducted at the 58,545 polling stations across the state.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai of the BJP, Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar and JD(S)' HD Kumaraswamy are some of the heavyweights in the Karnataka electoral fray. While BJP is hoping to get re-elected in the assembly elections, the post-1985 electoral data suggests that Karnataka voters have never voted the incumbent back to power.

Karnataka election results 2023: Exit polls predicted a hung assembly

Exit polls earlier predicted a hung assembly for Karnataka elections, with some outlets giving a slight advantage to Congress. Interestingly, JD(S) is expecting to play a kingmaker's role in the upcoming assembly if both Congress and BJP fail to reach the majority milestone. JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy has already said that both major parties have approached him to form a coalition in case of a hung assembly. The majority mark in the 224-seat Karnataka assembly is 113. Leaders from both BJP and Congress parties were confident that their parties will secure victory.
