Islamic State terrorist, 9 others killed in US drone strike

An Islamic State terrorist, Abu Huzaifa al-Bakistani - whose name had figured during the probe of IS module in Kashmir and parts of India - has been reportedly killed.

According to the Islamic State, Abu Huzaifa was killed along with 9 others in a US drone strike. 

According to sources, the name of Huzaifa had emerged during investigations by several agencies in terror modules. 

As per a 2015 media report, the intelligence agencies in India were tracking him after he was instrumental in recruiting and radicalising Indian youth online.

Reports say that Huzaifa was using Telegram instant-messaging application to lure the youth in joining the terror group in India.

Meanwhile, security forces on Wednesday gunned down a terrorist during an encounter that broke out in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore. 

The slain terrorist was identified as Adnan Ali Channa affiliated to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

The encounter began after security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Gund Brath area of Sopore after receiving inputs of presence of terrorists in the area.
