Irrfan Khan stunned everyone as he took to Twitter on May 16 in the middle of his cancer treatment in London to promote his upcoming film titled Karwaan.

In a sweet post, Irfan welcomed his co-stars of the film Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar to join in on the ride. He captioned the post: “ “Beginnings have the innocence that experience can’t buy. My best wishes to @dulQuer , @mipalkar for joining the karwaan. ‘ Two karwaans ‘ .... Mine and the movie !! @MrAkvarious @RSVPMovies @RonnieScrewvala.”

There are two details in the post that we can’t ignore, one that he took to Twitter after a gap of two months -- first time ever since he left India for treatment in London. Secondly, he subtly hints at some sort of “beginnings” and we are hoping it means that he is getting better and fighting off that tumour like a true fighter!

Also, the word ‘karwaan’ means the journey of a large company of pilgrims in Urdu. In this sense, he talks about his struggle (with the disease) and one with the film.

Irrfan left a rude shock in March this year when he tweeted about his illness that he later confirmed was a rare form of cancer, neuroendocrine tumour.

In the last statement shared by Irrfan’s spokesperson, it read:  “This latest round of news being spread through social media in the last few days about Irrfan’s health is absolutely false and there’s no truth to it whatsoever. We as his family and friends again request the members of the media to continue their support and the prayers that have come Irrfan’s way. However, it’s not right to spread rumours through mediums of social media without fact check or any official validation. In the meanwhile once again we request everyone to refrain from picking up social media statuses as affirmative developments on someone’s health.”

It all started when Irrfan posted two statement on Twitter, one announcing an illness and second confirming the type of illness.

These are the two posts:

Coming back to the film, Karwaan stars Irrfan, Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan and Marathi actor Mithila Palkar. Incidentally, Karwaan will also mark the Bollywood debut of Dulquer and Mithila. Dulquer gained fame with his performance in the Telugu hit film Mahanati while Mithila gained attention for her web series, Girl In The City and Little Things.

Karwaan, directed by Akarsh Khurana, is a light-hearted comedy about two strangers who meet during a trip. Irrfan Khan is said to be one of the pivotal characters in the film. The film will hit the screens on August 10, 2018.
