Formerly known as Pasarela Cibeles, this great event was born in 1985 with the aim of being a platform for Spanish designers. Its prestige has increased during these 33 years, and today it is placed on the exclusive map of the world’s catwalks.

Beatriz Penalver, the designer from Granada in southern Spain presented her show at this important event. The creator has conquered the public attending the show in her debut on the big catwalk that included twenty famous designers.

"I love it because the collection is fantastic and a lot of energy, and very much fresh idea. It's very sophisticated as well, so I just fall in love with it," said an audience member.

Penalver presented "Nomada", a collection inspired by the Tuareg culture with notes of contemporary styles.

The artist put on display the way of life of these nomadic tribes of the Sahara through garments made of viscose, velvet and embroidered organza among other exquisite fabrics.

Designs in brown, orange and copper were combined with blue and ivory in original avant-garde patterns including fringes, tulles, prominent shoulder pads and ruffles, one of the hallmarks of the Penalver brand.

"When you design a collection, you will look for inspiration among all the things you have. So I took my own fishtail skirt out of the closet and told myself to make use of it. Then I made this one, which is larger but not as heavy as the original one," said Penalver.

The audience also enjoyed this splendid show and showed their appreciation for the designer.

"It's fantastic and the colours are beautiful. There's orange and other colours as well as other kinds of elements. We enjoyed this show and I'm glad that I came," said another audience.
