
Munawar Faruqui: Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui found himself in trouble last night (March 26) as the TV star along with 13 others were detained by Mumbai police after a raid at a hookah bar. The bar was in the Fort area in south Mumbai.
As reported by ANI, according to Mumbai Police, a case was registered against Munawar Faruqi and 13 more people. Faruqui was later let off after the case was lodged.
Mumbai Police's Social Service Branch raided the Sabalan hookah bar at Bora Bazaar after receiving a tip-off."Our team raided a hookah bar in Mumbai after getting information about tobacco being used under the guise of herbal. After examining the things found there, a case was registered and 14 people were taken into custody. Faruqui was also among the people," an official said.
Though it was a bailable offence, the police gave a notice and let Faruqui go. The police are investigating the matter.
"If it turns out that the accused indeed used tobacco hookah, they will be charged under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act," the officer added.
Munawar grabbedthe limelight after he won the popular reality TV show Bigg Bossseason 17. He was one of the most popular contestants of the 17th season of the hit show.
