The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has condemned alleged safety lapses on the sets of the film, backing civic action against filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production house, B62 Studios. This update comes on Tuesday, following the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) suggested blacklisting the studio over repeated regulatory violations during the shooting of the film in Mumbai. Here's why AICWA points out safety violations In an official statement, AICWA president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta called the reported lapses "alarming." "The life, safety, and dignity of film industry workers, technicians, and labourers cannot be compromised under any circumstances," the association said. "Due to such gross negligence, every year several workers lose their lives, while many others suffer severe injuries caused by fires, electric shocks, and collapsing or unsafe sets. Tragic incidents at Goregaon Filmcity and other studios, where workers lost their lives due to fire and unsafe working conditions, remain painful reminders of the ongoing danger faced by film workers." "Unfortunately, timely and strict action is rarely taken, which emboldens negligent production houses to continue risking the lives of innocent workers,” they wrote. "When safety norms are ignored, thousands of workers are put in danger. In Mumbai alone, hundreds of shootings take place daily, and a majority of production houses fail to properly follow mandatory legal and safety requirements." Also Read: Dhurandhar becomes the longest trending movie, surpasses Chhaava and Jawan Why BMC acted against the production house As per reports, the proposed blacklisting comes after several alleged violations during the Dhurandhar 2 shoot, which include filming at unauthorised locations, using flammable materials, and operating generator vans without permits. They also reportedly pointed out the use of gas cylinders for cooking on set and the lighting of torches in a high-security zone, which led to police intervention. It is also said that crew members allegedly changed locations and shot on a building terrace without approval. BMC has already forfeited the production’s ₹25,000 security deposit and suggested an additional fine of ₹1 lakh. It has also sent a recommendation to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner seeking permanent blacklisting of the studio from applying for future filming permissions via the state’s single-window portal. Makers are yet to respond to the matter. Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.

<h2>Delhi High Court grants bail</h2><p>On Monday, the Delhi High Court suspended Yadav’s sentence in the cheque bounce cases till March 18 and permitted him to be released from jail. He was granted an interim bail. Earlier in the hearing, the court had ordered Rajpal to deposit ₹1.5 crore by 3 PM on Monday for interim bail. After the lawyer of the complainant, M/S Murli Project, confirmed that the actor had deposited the amount in the company’s bank accounts against the bounced cheque amount, the bail was granted.</p><p>The actor is expected to repay the remainder of the due amount by March 18 to avoid further jail term.</p><h2>Why was Rajpal Yadav in jail?</h2><p>The trouble began in 2010 when Rajpal Yadav took a loan of Rs 5 crore from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to fund his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata (2012). The film’s failed at the box office and the actor was unable to repay the loan, which eventually led to a legal battle that saw a Magisterial Court convict him and his wife, Radha, in April 2018 under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. After seven cheques issued to the complainant bounced, the actor was sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment, a conviction that was later upheld by a Sessions Court in early 2019. <p><strong>Court asks Rajpal Yadav to pay Rs 1.50 crore till 3 PM</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>During the court proceedings on Monday, Rajpal Yadav’s team said that they are ready to submit Rs 1.5 crore by 3 PM. However, if the amount is paid, the actor would get the bail. Otherwise, the next hearing of the case will take place on Tuesday morning.</p><p><br>As per Moneycontrol, Yadav's lawyer said that they were ready to deposit Rs 1.5 crore without any conditions through a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR). However, Justice Sharma stated that the amount must be submitted through a Demand Draft (DD).</p><p><br>The court also took note of the payments already submitted, which included an amount of Rs 25 lakh deposited in addition to a Rs 75 lakh DD that had previously been submitted by the actor.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>On Feb 12 hearing, the Delhi High Court expressed displeasure over how Yadav and his team had made fake promises as they failed to deposit the money again and again.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Justice Sharma said, as per Bar and Bench,''You did not go to jail because the Court passed an order. You have gone to jail because you have failed to comply with your own commitments to the Court. I’m not a believer in prosthetic as long as I can achieve the look through my hardwork which I’ve achieved in Nikam be it gaining weight or looking old (to play a certain age)or to make my hair thin which my hair stylist was very much against but everyone told me to not go half bald for BOSE also and to gain that much weight or to Not stop eating and lose so much weight for TRAPPED or to not behave like a visually impaired person even when cameras weren’t rolling during SRIKANTH. For Nikam I had to gain around 9-10 kgs and I was eating 2 pizzas and lot of sweets and my fav Aloo Parathas, Biryani and to not use anything glam to look like the part. Hopefully, when you will see the film which will be releasing soon you will be able to see all that hardwork in the film.</p><p>And now it’s the transition phase and time to lose these extra kgs and get ready to slip into Ganguly mode.
