The most-awaited IPL season is back, and so is the fun! On March 22, the 17th edition of TATA IPL 2024 kicked off, and in the most extravagant way. Regarded as one of the biggest sports events, the opening ceremony of the cricket tournaments saw power-packed performances by some of the biggest Bollywood stars and singers, who made the entire jam-packed stadium erupt in cheers.

Held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the glitzy opening ceremony started at 6:30 PM and saw mind-blowing performances by Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. The first match of the IPL 2024 is between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Akshay and Tiger brought much-needed energy to the stadium with their glitzy performances. Gearing up for their next big release, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Bollywood heavyweights gave a spectacular performance ahead of the big match.
Tiger and Akshay, who are known for their dancing skills, showed off their soft moves as they took the stage at the stadium. Wearing camouflage pants, Shroff danced to his hit song, ''Jai Jai Shiv Shankar'', from the movieWar. Before, he's been joined by Akshay, who grooved on his famous song ''Desi Boyz''.
Further, Akshay and Tiger together performed on some of their popular hits, including “Chura Ke Dil Mera,” and ''Shaitan Ka Saala,'' among others. The duo also took a bike ride in the stadium, with Tiger holding the Indian tricolour.

Apart from Akshay and Tiger's performance, music maestro AR Rahman, singer Sonu Nigam, Mohit Chauhan, and Neeti Mohan set the mood of the night with their high-beat songs.
AR Rahman performed on his populart song ''Chhaiyya Chhaiyya'', from the hit movie, Dil Se starring Shah Rukh Khan. After the end of the opening ceremony, the new captains Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) andChennai Super Kings (CSK) respectively, posed with the trophy before the start of the big game.
