Acclaimed South Indian director S. Shankar's daughter Aishwarya got married to Tarun Karthikeyan on Monday (April 15). The grand wedding ceremony took place in Chennai.
In the photos that have gone viral on social media, Shankar's elder daughter Aishwarya is seen wearing a gorgeous red saree with heavy gold jewellery. Meanwhile, Aishwarya's husband Tarun was wearing a cream kurta with a matching salwar, and a white scarf.
The wedding of Shankar's elder daughter was a star-studded affair as many renowned names of the South Indian film industry graced the ceremony. Veteran actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Suriya attended the ceremony to bless the newlywed couple.

Superstar Nayanthara attended the wedding with her husband Vignesh Shivan. The couple posed with the newly married couple. For the ceremony, the Jawan actress was wearing a decent pink saree and accessorised her look with silver jewellery. Meanwhile, Vignesh was wearing a white shirt with traditional kalli mundu.

The photos also showed Shankar and his wife Eshwari. Both were looking happy. Aishwarya's sister, Aditi Shankar, who is an actress and singer, shared a few photos on her Instagram handle from the wedding. The photos showed some sweet moments from the wedding.
The couple got engaged in February in an intimate ceremony hosted at their home in Chennai. This is Aishwarya's second marriage. She was previously married to cricketer Damodaran Rohit.
Shankar is a well-known name in Tamil cinema. Over the year, the acclaimed director has collaborated with several A-listers like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vikram, and has given several blockbusters like Anniyan, Sivaji: The Boss, Enthiran among others. His next project is Kamal Haasan's Indian 2.
