India and Pakistan will face off in the marquee clash (on February 23) in Dubai, a neutral venue added at the last minute after the BCCI denied sending the Indian Team across the border due to security concerns. Though India&rsquo;s ODI Team will be upbeat to bring glory home, Pakistan&rsquo;s record against their arch-rivals in this tournament, having won thrice in five matches, keeps them on their toes.
What works in India&rsquo;s favour is their brilliant record against Pakistan at the venue, where they dominated them throughout, barring one loss (by ten wickets) during the 2021 T20 World Cup.&nbsp;

<h2>Amir on Bumrah&rsquo;s absence</h2>
India will be without Jasprit Bumrah for their Champions Trophy 2025 match against Pakistan, per the latest reports. Bumrah is nursing a back injury he suffered midway through the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney, after which he remained out of action.
The Indian seamer is currently getting treated for the same at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, with the BCCI and the selection committee monitoring his fitness update before announcing the final 15 for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
"It will be a huge loss to India if Bumrah isn't there. He has been a top bowler for India, leading the pack from the front. Without him, the Indian bowling attack is reduced to 40-50 per cent of its strength," Amir said of Bumrah's absence.

'Will remain Test captain’ - Rohit to selectors amid retirement talks

Shakib Al Hasan, a veteran Bangladesh cricketer, has failed his second bowling test in Chennai and subsequently found no place in the 15-man Champions Trophy squad.
Shakib faced suspension from top-flight and international cricket over a suspected bowling action earlier, failing to pass the second test undertaken at the Sri Ramachandra Centre for Sports Science in Chennai last month.
As a result, his suspension remains in place, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced in a statement.
"Consequently, the player's existing suspension from bowling in international cricket following the initial independent assessment at the testing centre of Loughborough University in the UK also remains in place. ILT20: Gulbadin Naib stars as Dubai Capitals prevail in season opener

Jasprit Bumrah will most likely miss the group stages of Team India&rsquo;s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign due to a swelling on his back, per the latest reports. India&rsquo;s premier seamer will report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru in the meantime, with the sources close to the information saying Bumrah would attain full fitness by the first week of March.
&ldquo;He (Bumrah) will be going to NCA for his rehabilitation. The initial report says he doesn&rsquo;t have a fracture but has swelling on his back. So, the NCA will monitor his recovery, and he will be there for three weeks. But even after that, he will have to play a match or two, even if they are practice games organised to check his match fitness,&rdquo; an unnamed BCCI source said, as quoted by the Indian Express newspaper.

India will begin their tournament on February 20 against Bangladesh before facing co-host Pakistan in the marquee clash three days later.
The Men in Blue&rsquo;s last league game is against New Zealand on March 2, playing all its matches, including the semis and the final, should they qualify, in Dubai following official refusal of sending the team across the border due to security reasons. &nbsp;
