Former Pakistan cricketer Basil Ali has launched a scathing attack on the country's board after newly-appointed white-ball coach Gary Kirsten resigned six months into the job. Kirsten stepped down following the announcement of Mohammad Rizwan being appointed as Pakistan's new white-ball skipper.
"Mohsin Naqvi has come with a lot of power. The coaches, selectors and managers are being removed. Earlier, the chairman used to be changed from time to time. Now, whoever raises their voice will be sidelined," said Basit Ali on his YouTube channel about the new chairman.

"The story started when Mohammad Rizwan was named Pakistan's new white-ball captain. Kirsten wanted a different captain and demanded another player in the team. Coincidently, both of them are not in the team. He was thinking that maybe he could have full authority. However, he doesn't know that in Pakistan, even the PCB chairman can get changed overnight," the former cricketer added.
The musical chair of coach, selection committee, and captain has been going on for quite some time now in Pakistan cricket which started in aftermath of the Men in Green's failure to make it to the top four in the ODI World Cup 2023.
Following the ICC tournament, Pakistan removed Babar Azam as skipper across formats only to reinstate him in T20Is following the white-ball series loss in Australia under his replacement Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Shan Masood was named the Test skipper but his position also came under scrutiny with multiple series losses, including one against Bangladesh at home. Masood, however, kept his position after recent come from behind home series victory against England while Babar resigned from the position.
Pakistan now travel to Australia for three ODIs and T20Is tour which starts from November 4. Salman Ali Agha has been Rizwan's deputy in the white-ball teams.
