BCCI set to inaugurate new National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru equipped with world class facilities
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will officially inaugurate the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in the coming days after Secretary Jay Shah announced plans on Saturday (July 3).The BCCI will soon provide state-of-the-art facilities for Indian cricketers in Bengaluru with unreal features like Olympic-size swimming pools and indoor cricket pitches. The announcement will come as another big benchmark for Indian cricket during Jay Shah’s tenure as Secretary.
NCA set for major overhaul
“Very excited to announce that the @BCCI’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is almost complete and will be opening shortly in Bengaluru. The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, an Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities. This initiative will help our nation’s current and future cricketers develop their skills in the best possible environment!” Jay Shah wrote on ‘X’.

The new facilities will include 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, an Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training facilities. The plan is set to lift Indian cricket for future generations as they will be equipped with world-class facilities. The NCA serves as the centre of preparations for Indian players contracted to the BCCI but the latest developments will also see the domestic players use the facilities to prepare.

Since Jay Shah took over, the Indian cricket administration has taken a lift with pension schemes for former players and former umpires. The pensions were recently doubled for the retired umpires while funds for junior and women categories have also been increased. The launch of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), has also helped women’s cricket grow while U-19 teams have received huge appreciation.
