Australia dealt blow before Scotland series as Josh Hazlewood gets sidelined due to calf injury
Australia's bowling attack has been dealt a huge blow in their preparations for the T20I series against Scotland with veteran bowler Josh Hazlewood ruled out due to a calf injury. Hazlewood who plays a key role in the Australian bowling department in all three formats will miss all the three T20I matches after an announcement was made on Saturday (Aug 24). While the extent of the injury remains unidentified he will be expecting to return for the England series later in September.
Hazlewood to miss Australia tour of Scotland
Having been selected for the entire United Kingdom tour, Hazlewood’s injury comes as a minor setback for the ODI World champions. He sustained niggle in his right calf and was unable to pass the fitness test which left the management to rest him ahead of a busy period in the Australian summer. The veteran speedster, however, is expected to be back for the England white-ball tour.
Considering Australia need a full-strength bowling attack during the summer when they face India in a five-match Test series. Australia’s team management is keeping an eye on all the developments in the bowling department having excluded Pat Cummins altogether from the UK tour while Mitchell Starc will only feature in the white-ball series in England.

It has been three years since Meredith last represented Australia and will look to get his international career back on track.
