Mullen Automotive has unveiled its latest innovation in electric vehicle technology with the new PowerUP mobile charging platform. Based on the Mullen THREE electric chassis cab completely powered by electricity, this sophisticated system is designed to provide greater flexibility for use and to charge on-demand and mobile DC electric jobsite and emergency applications.
At the very heart of the Mullen PowerUP is 160 kW battery pack that was designed to be completely modular and capable of delivering up to 1 MWh of energy anywhere it is placed. This capability is especially helpful when there is an absence of electrical connections with the main power utility or during emergencies. The facility is equipped with two 60 kW DC fast charging stations, two Level 2 charging points with 20 kW, and two jumper terminals intended for conventional ICEs with 12V terminals.

David Michery, CEO and chairman of Mullen Automotive, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation in response to industry demands: “The reception to the first PowerUP concept has been immensely positive; however, the market needs a solution to achieve zero emissions and is not limited to recharging lowering the Mullen THREE electric platform’s efficiency to ten times faster, at a much higher scale and with zero emissions for both the vehicle and power unit."
This particular model of the PowerUP is somewhat different from its predecessors in that it does not encourage blended systems where a portion of the energy is derived from electricity while the rest comes from fossil fuels. Mullen’s development activities are backed up by its High Energy Facility located in Fullerton, California, where the integration process of battery pack production assets, bought from Romeo Power has helped enhance the platform’s evolution towards a fully battery-powered mobile charger.
The launch of the Mullen PowerUP arises at the dawn of current market trends associated with green solutions and zero-emission products, which makes Mullen Automotive a pioneer in mobile EVAs solutions.
