Now, there will be no tariffs on smartphones, computers, chips and other electronics.&nbsp;

China has unveiled the world's first close-in anti-drone barrage weapon system, which will be targeted against multiple drones and high-speed missiles, The South China Morning Post reported on Friday (Apr 11), citing the developer of the drone. This groundbreaking innovation has apparently been made by China's state-run defence firm Norinco.
The system is called the Bullet Curtain, which has a unique "plane-to-point" interception method. As per the report, it created a wall of projectiles to blanket incoming targets with overlapping firepower.
It also has radar, an optical detection system, a fire-control system, an integrated management system and ammunition with the platform. &nbsp;

&ldquo;While traditional air-defence weapons only hit at a single point, we are building a canopy capable of countering a saturation attack,&rdquo; he said.
As per the developer, the system was inspired by Metal Storm, which is a rapid-fire weapon concept jointly developed by Australia and the United States in the late 1990s.&nbsp;

SCMP report said that the barrage system features a 4x4 tight arrangement of 35mm gun barrels for various types of ammunition. It aims to deliver an unprecedented rate of fire while maintaining quick reload capabilities.&nbsp;
The report further stated that the system fires 35mm advanced hit efficiency and destruction (AHEAD) ammunition that spits hundreds of sub-projectiles each to form a barrage against drones.&nbsp;
Yu said the team had developed new "serial and parallel ammunition" for larger and faster targets, such as missiles. As per the report, the system has been fitted on a 6x6 truck and configured as a road-mobile air-defence cover embedded in mechanised units.&nbsp;

Yu, as per report, said that the size and type of the barrage could be adjusted by computer "based on the characteristics of the incoming target, to determine which strategy is to be used and the best way to strike it".
"That is the most significant highlight of this weapon system," he said as quoted.&nbsp;
Although Metal Storm has stayed in the prototype stage due to practical difficulties, Yu claimed that his team had improved and developed the concept, turning it into a fully functional product that offered inexpensive and extremely effective area air defence.

People in Brussels recently learned that their streets had been hiding hundreds of human skeletons for years, some as old as 800 years. The discovery was made when work started to build tram tracks. Excavators dug up the area and found human remains. The archaeological department was then alerted, and they found at least 30 skeletons.&nbsp;

Shawn Mopner is a 32-year-old resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, the same town where Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt during an open-air campaign rally on July 13, 2025.&nbsp;
On July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired eight rounds from an AR-15&ndash;style rifle from the roof of a nearby building. Trump narrowly survived the attempt on his life, with one of the bullets grazing his ear. One audience member, Corey Comperatore, was killed in the attack, and two others were critically injured.

The FBI began investigating Monper after receiving an emergency tip about threatening comments and videos posted on YouTube by a user who called himself "Mr Satan". The threats included one where he explicitly said he was "going to assassinate" Trump. Officials traced the internet activity to Monper's residence.
<h2>A licence to kill?</h2>
An investigation found that the 32-year-old had acquired a firearms' licence shortly after Trump became the US president.&nbsp;
Mopner also bragged that he had started creating his personal arsenal. On February 17, he claimed to have "bought several guns and been stocking up on ammo since Trump got in office" while making references to what he referred to as an "American Revolution 2.0."
"Nah, we just need to start killing people, Trump, Elon (Musk), all the heads of agencies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way," he wrote.

On February 17, he claimed to have "bought several guns and been stocking up on ammo since Trump got in office" while making references to what he referred to as an "American Revolution 2.0." "Nah, we just need to start killing people, Trump, Elon (Musk), all the heads of agencies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way," he wrote. In a report by The Times, published on Friday, General Kellogg, who is special envoy for Ukraine, suggested that British and French troops could adopt zones of control in the west of the country as part of a "reassurance force", with Russia's army in the occupied east. He said, between them would be Ukrainian forces and a demilitarised zone.&nbsp;

What Kellogg said appeared to show what a peace deal might look like, with the US acknowledging Russia's de facto control over the land they currently occupy in the east.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A Pennsylvania man who posted online threats under the alias 'Mr Satan' has been charged with threatening to assassinate US President Donald Trump and other government officials, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Friday (Apr 11).
<h2>Trump wannabe assassinator arrested</h2>
The man, posting under the alias "Mr Satan," has been identified as 32-year-old Shawn Monper, a resident of Butler Township.
Monper is from Butler, Pennsylvania, the same town where Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally on July 13, when a gunman&rsquo;s bullet grazed the-then Republican presidential candidate's ear.

Monper was arrested and charged with "making threats to assault and murder" Trump, as well as officials with federal agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
A detention hearing for Monper, aka Mr Satan is scheduled for April 14, reports AFP.
<h2>Chilling threats against Trump, Musk and more</h2>
The FBI began investigating Monper after receiving an emergency tip about threatening comments and videos posted on YouTube by a user who called himself "Mr Satan". The threats, included one where he explicitly said he was "going to assassinate him (Trump) myself". Officials traced the internet activity to Monper's residence.
According to the DOJ, Monper's online activity included multiple posts advocating violence. On February 17, he wrote: "Nah, we just need to start killing people, Trump, Elon (Musk), all the heads of agencies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way."

On March 4, Monper posted a video during Trump's address to Congress, repeating his intent to carry out an assassination, prosecutors said.
