A 17-year-old boy from Wisconsin has been accused of murdering his parents as part of a plan to assassinate US President <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/was-that-a-dig-at-trump-green-day-opens-coachella-with-american-idiots-8957163" rel="dofollow noopener" target="_blank">Donald Trump</a> and overthrow the government, according to newly unsealed court documents.
Federal authorities say the teenager, Nikita Casap, outlined his intentions in text messages and written notes discovered by investigators. A federal affidavit claims Casap saw the killing of his parents as a way to gain the &ldquo;financial means and autonomy&rdquo; to carry out his plan.
He now faces nine felony charges in Waukesha County, including two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of hiding a corpse. On the federal level, three additional charges are being pursued, including attempted presidential assassination, conspiracy, and the use of weapons of mass destruction.

<h2>Parents shot dead in their home</h2>
The bodies of Casap&rsquo;s mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, were found at their home, both killed by gunshots. Investigators believe the murders happened on 11 February.
Casap was initially arrested in Kansas by the WaKeeney Police Department for allegedly stealing his stepfather&rsquo;s SUV and carrying a firearm.
When authorities searched his phone, they reportedly found extremist content, including material connected to the &ldquo;Order of Nine Angles,&rdquo; a group described in court papers as promoting neo-Nazi and racially motivated ideologies.
Court documents say agents discovered communications and photos referencing a self-written manifesto. It contained instructions on how to make bombs, conduct terrorist attacks, and carry out an assassination.

<h2>Drone attack plans and stolen funds</h2>
Authorities say Casap had collected information on turning a drone into a weapon. He is believed to have partly funded the purchase of a drone and explosives. Photos of Mayer&rsquo;s credit and debit cards, along with bank login details, were also found.
An open safe in the stolen SUV held women&rsquo;s jewellery, electronics, banking documents and around $14,000 in cash.
According to the affidavit, a classmate of Casap told the sheriff&rsquo;s office in March that Casap had shared plans to kill his parents but had no gun at the time. Later, Casap allegedly said he would make friends with someone who had access to firearms and then steal a weapon.

Russia, on Sunday (Apr 13), fired a ballistic missile targeting Ukraine's northeastern city of Sumy, which killed at least 31 people and injured 84 others, said Kyiv.
The deadly attack came just two days after US envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, and despite US President Donald Trump urging Moscow to end the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the "horrific" Russian strike "hit an ordinary city street, ordinary life &ndash; residential buildings, educational institutions, cars on the street," on a Palm Sunday, the day when he said people go to church.&nbsp;
He further expressed condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives and said that a rescue operation was underway.
"According to preliminary information, dozens of civilians were killed and wounded. Only filthy scum can act like this &ndash; taking the lives of ordinary people. My condolences to the families and loved ones. A rescue operation is underway. All necessary services are working at the scene," he said in a post on X.

"Russia hit the city centre with ballistic missiles. Right when there were many people on the street," Ukraine's state emergency service said.
"People were injured right in the middle of the street, in cars, public transport, and in houses," emergency services said as rescue operations were ongoing.&nbsp;
"As of 13:40 (1040GMT), 31 people were killed, including 2 children," the service said on social media, adding that "84 people were injured, including 10 children."
<h2>Zelensky demands strong response from US, Europe</h2>
Zelensky further demanded a strong response from the United States and Europe.
"The world must respond firmly. The United States, Europe, everyone in the world who wants this war and these killings to end. Russia wants exactly this kind of terror and is dragging this war out," he said in a post on X.&nbsp;
"Without pressure on Russia, peace is impossible. Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and aerial bombs. What&rsquo;s needed is an attitude toward Russia that a terrorist deserves. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine and helps us defend life," he added.

NATO Chief Mark Rutte has warned that Russia is considering the deployment of nuclear weapons in space, and that it will be a threat to the thousands of satellites orbiting the Earth that are crucial for defence, communications, and the daily lives of people. In an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte warned that the Russian nuclear weapons in space would not target Earth but may target satellites and would be a violation of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty.
&ldquo;We are aware of reports that Russia is examining the possibility of placing nuclear weapons in space,&rdquo; Rutte told Welt am Sonntag in an interview published on Saturday. Welt is a sister publication of POLITICO in the Axel Springer Group.

More than 100 people, including 20 children, are now feared dead in Sudan following paramilitary attacks on the besieged Darfur city of El-Fasher and two nearby famine-hit camps, the United Nations said on Saturday.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), at war with the regular army since April 2023, launched "coordinated ground and aerial assaults" on Friday on El-Fasher and the Zamzam and Abu Shouk displacement camps, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.

Early reports from the local resistance committee, a volunteer aid group in El-Fasher, put Friday's death toll at 57, with 32 civilians killed in El-Fasher and 25 in Zamzam.
However, the army said Saturday that 74 civilians were killed and 17 wounded in El-Fasher alone.
Activists said Friday the full extent of the damage in Zamzam remains unclear because of internet shutdowns and communications disruptions.
The Sudanese Organisation for the Protection of Civilians said Saturday the dead included nine humanitarian workers operating a hospital in Zamzam, run by an international non-governmental organisation.
UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan Clementine Nkweta-Salami condemned their deaths.
"The colleagues from an international non-governmental organisation were killed while operating one of the very few remaining health posts still operational in the camp," she said in a statement.
"This represents yet another deadly and unacceptable escalation in a series of brutal attacks on displaced people and aid workers in Sudan since the onset of this conflict nearly two years ago.
"I strongly urge those committing such acts to immediately desist."
In a statement on Saturday, the RSF dismissed a video purportedly shared by activists showing civilians killed in Zamzam.
The paramilitary group condemned the footage as a fabricated production, labelling it a "desperate attempt to criminalise" its forces.
A local advocacy group, the Darfur General Coordination of Camps for the Displaced and Refugees, said the attack on Zamzam resumed on Saturday morning, with clashes and heavy gunfire heard for hours.
The camp was the first part of Sudan where a UN-backed assessment declared famine last year.
By December, famine had also spread to two nearby camps -- Abu Shouk and Al Salam -- and is expected to hit El-Fasher itself by May.
The war has killed tens of thousands of people and uprooted more than 12 million since it broke out in April 2023. Both sides in the conflict have been accused of war crimes and breaches of international humanitarian law.

"When you sit down to mark Passover, remember that this is not a holiday of freedom as long as Edan and the other hostages are not home," the family added.
The family did not authorise media to broadcast the footage.
Alexander appears to be speaking under duress in the video, making frequent hand gestures as he criticises Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government for failing to secure his release.
The video was released hours after Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel's military had seized the new Morag axis between the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis.
Katz also outlined plans to expand Israel's ongoing offensive across much of the Gaza Strip.
In a separate statement earlier Saturday, Hamas said Israel's Gaza operations endangered not only Palestinian civilians but also the remaining hostages.
