Trump blasts Harris for posting 'fake and staged' photo of Hurricane Helene briefing

Donald Trump, Kamala Harris

Former US president Donald Trump targeted Kamala Harris yet again by claiming that the vice president staged the photo when being briefed about the impact of Hurricane Helen which has killed over 130 so far.

Trump said the picture was "fake" and "staged" because Harris'searbuds appear not to be plugged into her cellphone.

“Another FAKE and STAGED photo from someone who has no clue what she is doing,” the Republican presidential nominee wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“You have to plug the cord into the phone for it to work!” he added.

The said photograph was posted on Harris'official vice presidential X account on Monday (Sep 30) where she appeared pensive while taking notes aboard Air Force Two.

"I was just briefed by @FEMA_Deanne Criswell on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene. We also discussed our Administration's continued actions to support emergency response and recovery," wrote Harris.

"Our Administration will continue to stay in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need," she added.

Trump calls Harris mentally impaired

With a little over a month to go for the elections, Trump has increased the intensity and frequency of his attacks on Harris.

Last week, Trump called Harris "mentally impaired" whileaddressing a rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The Republican leader blamed Harris for the current border situation where illegals were indiscriminately entering the US.

"Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala was born that way. She was born that way. And if you think about it, only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country. Anybody would know this," said Trump.

“I can’t even believe she’s being considered. She was considered, eight weeks ago, the worst vice president in history. A very dumb person. The fake news was calling her ‘dumb’, ‘stupid’, ‘didn’t have a chance’.”

This was not the first instance when Trump launched ad hominem attacks on Harris. In July, he questioned Harris's racial identity during a panel with the National Association of Black Journalists, which brought the ex-US president a lot of flak.
