'Mamma Mia!' gets sequel, Cher makes grand entry but Meryl Streep goes missing in trailer!

Remember 2008 release, Mamma Mia! that had Meryl Streep give another peppy performance with Amanda Seyfried as her daughter? The film now gets it sequel as the trailer for the new film released on May 8. The new film is titled Mamma Mia! Here We Again.

First things first, we’re a little sceptical about the film as we have a hunch that Meryl Streep might not make it to the film even though there are reports that the veteran actor will reprise her role as there are a few glimpses of her in the trailer. What brings us to this question is the fact that she is not there in any of the big events of her daughter, Sophie’s life in the film -- when she gets pregnant or there to greet any of her lovers and Sophie’s possible father-- Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Harry (Colin Firth), and Bill (Stellan Skarsgård).

But there’s one thing we are very excited about and that is the entry of American actress and singer Cher that will play the role of Donna’s (Meryl Streep’s) mother in the film. And what a style!

In the trailer, Sophie reflects back on her own mother's journey of discovery on the Greek island of Kalokairi, with Lily James stepping into to play a young Donna.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will hit UK cinemas on July 20.
