Finding a first job is becoming increasingly difficult for young people across several major economies. In the United States, unemployment among teenagers aged 16 to 19 rose to 14.7 percent in may, up from 13.4 percent a year ago. The increase comes just as the summer hiring season begins, traditionally a period when retailers, restaurants, camps and entertainment venues add temporary workers.
