WTO on the verge of collapse as Trump administration block new appointments

After today, the World Trade Organisation, as the arbiter of global trade disputes, will no longer be able to fulfill its role. The strong appeal body of the WTO— which upholds, modifies or reverses the decision in trade disputes— is set to lose two judges who finish their terms on December 10, leaving only one member to the board. The administration of Trump has blocked the new appointments to the appellate body, claiming it has overstepped its mandate
