Following the joint US‑Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has appointed a three‑member interim leadership council to steer the country during the transition. Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, a senior cleric and member of the Guardian Council, was selected as the jurist representative on the temporary council alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Chief Justice Gholam‑Hossein Mohseni‑Ejei, as provided under Article 111 of Iran’s Constitution.
