US-Iran War: Israel Launches Simultaneous Attacks on Iran, Lebanon
The Israeli military has announced that it has begun extensive waves of attacks on Beirut in Lebanon and Iran simultaneously. Lebanon is where Hezbollah is headquartered, and Beirut hosts many of their operation centres. The IDF claims that the Islamic Republic is firing missiles and drones from densely populated residential areas, endangering the people of Iran themselves. Israeli forces state that these actions are deliberate and directly expose Iranian civilians to danger, both during the use of these launches and during their destruction by the Israeli air force. This explanation comes as Israeli forces justify targeting what is being described as civilian areas. Earlier footage showed a projectile hitting a residential area in Beirut. The IDF also stated that due to the precision of their strikes, a bridge remains intact after the impact.
