Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom for the opening day of a high-profile court case against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.
Harry and six other claimants, including Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, allege the publisher carried out illegal information gathering, including phone hacking, bugging homes and vehicles, and bribing officials in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Associated Newspapers has denied all allegations, calling them unfounded and defamatory. Harry is expected to testify later this week. The case is being closely watched for its implications for press accountability and the long-running rift between the Duke of Sussex and the British media.
