UK: NHS misses targets in England to tackle backlogs

The patient backlog was one of the criticisms of the NHS strikes that we've already mentioned. This is a serious issue. According to recent government statistics, 10 NHS trusts are in charge of caring for nearly half of the patients, some of whom have been waiting for treatment to begin for up to 18 months.
