Last year, the Philippines became Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economy, overtaking Vietnam and Malaysia. Three big factors helped the economy top the growth chart: consumption, services and investment. Gross domestic product expanded 5.6%, surpassing the Bloomberg estimate of 5.5%.
