At least three people were killed and nine others injured when a 27-year-old man, Chang Wen, set off smoke bombs and went on a stabbing spree across Taipei’s metro stations. The suspect later died after falling from a multi-storey building. Taiwanese Premier Cho Jung-tai said the motive remains unclear, noting that attacks of this kind are extremely rare in Taiwan.
