Only 17% of nearly 9,000 cities surveyed globally met the World Health Organization (WHO) air quality guidelines. Bangladesh was identified as one of the most polluted countries, with Dhaka frequently ranking among the world's most polluted cities due to high vehicular emissions, industrial, and construction activities.
