New Zealand greenlights MDMA therapy for severe PTSD

A quiet but major shift in mental health care — New Zealand has become only the second country ever, after Australia in 2023, to approve pharmaceutical-grade MDMA for treating severe PTSD. Two psychiatrists, Dr. Gary Wynn in Wellington and Dr. Tom Paterson in Auckland, spent over a year clearing regulatory hurdles to earn the right to prescribe it.
