On February 14, 2026, a tragic construction accident occurred on the under-construction Mumbai Metro Line-4 in Mulund West, resulting in the death of a local community leader and injuries to three others. A "parapet segment" (a concrete slab/wall portion) of a pillar, measuring roughly 6 feet by 4 feet, collapsed from the elevated corridor onto an auto-rickshaw and a car on the busy Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Road.
