Amid the diplomatic tensions over the Al-Aqsa mosque controversy, Jordan's King Abdullah held a meeting with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to Jordan's Royal Court, Abdullah told Netanyahu that Israel should respect the historic legal status-quo in the holy Al-Aqsa mosque and not violate it.
