Japan earthquake: Major tsunami hits Sea of Japan coast; South Korea issues tsunami warning

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 hit north central Japan on the first day of New Year. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning along the western coastal regions of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama prefectures.
