After the assassination of multiple leaders, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is increasingly being perceived to be leading the country's war efforts. Holding a doctorate in political geography, he has held several posts including Tehran Mayor and IRGC Air Force commander. He also unsuccessfully contested the Presidential election thrice.
