The navies of India and France began a joint military exercise, 'Varuna' on Monday along the Indian western coast of Goa. The exercise will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be held off Goa from May 7 to May 10 and would include anti-submarine exercises, live firing drills, naval helicopter operations, and basic to advanced-level exercises for carrier-borne fighter aircraft. The second sea phase will take place off Djibouti later in the month, according to the Indian Navy.
