Honduras’ National Electoral Council has begun a manual count of about 15% of ballots from last month’s presidential election, a process that could overturn preliminary results showing Conservative Nasry Asfura narrowly leading. The ruling LIBRE party protests, claiming fraud and US interference, while both sides await the outcome of the laborious hand count of hundreds of thousands of votes.
