A former senior Russian Orthodox Church official is under investigation after Czech authorities reportedly detained him following the discovery of a white substance in his vehicle. The development has triggered a sharp diplomatic reaction, with Moscow condemning the detention as an “orchestrated provocation” and demanding accountability from Czech authorities.
The cleric has denied all allegations, insisting he has no connection to any illegal substances and calling for an independent probe into the police operation. Investigators in the Czech Republic say the case remains under active review.
