White House: The historic East Wing of the White House, which served as the entrance for visitors and the office space for first ladies for over a century, has been completely demolished. The demolition clears the site for President Donald Trump’s ambitious project to build a 90,000-square-foot ballroom costing an estimated $300 million. Despite initial claims that the current structure would remain, extensive consultations led to the decision to start anew for a modern and stable design.
